Sixty participants were invited to attend the risk assessment that included a clinical test. Four biofeedback testing patterns were tested with the participants. Two machine learning algorithms were selected to experiment using 10-fold cross validation scenario. The results show that Artificial Neuron Network has the best evaluation performance of 86.67%, 80%, and 80% in three out of four biofeedback testing patterns. This demonstrates that the application of static balance measurement together with Wii Fit Balance Board® could be implemented as a tool to replace high-cost force plate systems.","PeriodicalId":380950,"journal":{"name":"2017 Global Wireless Summit (GWS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130941545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a pose and expression face recognition method by converting a given face image into a single face neutral reference to create a synthesized frontal face image that is more similar face with the database. We, thus, transform a pose face to a frontal face and an expression face to opened-eyes and closed-mouth face by using triangle transformation. Pose views of face image used are yawing and pitching view that may contain varied expressions such as neutral, disgust, scream, smile, squint, and surprise. We evaluate our proposed method by using well-known face database; namely, CMU Multi-PIE database and CMU PIE database. Our proposed method improves the face recognition accuracy when using our synthesized face image via virtual neutral face database.","PeriodicalId":380950,"journal":{"name":"2017 Global Wireless Summit (GWS)","volume":"30 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120942654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, studies have shown that there are recognizable antecedents that can aid in early recognition, intervention, and prevention of these attacks. These can be detected by monitoring vital signs such as cardiac rhythm, arterial pulsations (heartbeats), heart rate or heart sounds. By regular and consistent monitoring of these vital signs, early help can be rendered. Therefore, this paper discusses the implementation and evaluation of a cardiac arrest telemonitoring system, based on M2M middleware, which can continuously monitor a patient's heart rate and alert stakeholders (patient, caregiver, and physician) in the event of abnormal readings. The paper also makes an assessment of the delay in the delivery of these alert messages to show the contribution of such a system towards reducing the overall time of the chain of survival.","PeriodicalId":380950,"journal":{"name":"2017 Global Wireless Summit (GWS)","volume":"2017 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127569963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes an automatic saliency-based offside detection method. Six cameras are installed at the both sides on the centerline and in the back of goals for capturing scenes of players with a ball In the scenes, offensive players who are playing the ball are estimated their movement by saliency, and the estimated motion is compared with the position of the defensive players for determining offside. The experiments performed video with 138 times offside in 33 tournaments of FIFA world football competitions held in Europe in 2016, and the results show 93.33% accuracy.","PeriodicalId":380950,"journal":{"name":"2017 Global Wireless Summit (GWS)","volume":"17 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116652039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Access Network (AN) of such a SC will have all the characteristics of a network which is able to offer revolutionary services, capabilities, and facilities that are hard to be provided using the existing telecommunication technologies. This paper provides a vision related to the concept of a future AN for SCs and considers some of the challenges related to its functional requirements and design. The vision is that such a future ANs will develop towards a flexible and cognitive Unified Wireless Smart Access (UWSA) infrastructure with intelligence spread down to the level of each single user. The UWSA with all its different types of users will function as a unique large scale complex system with integrated Communication, Navigation, Sensing and Services (CONASENSE). Such UWSA will acquire the characteristics and performance of a CPS with users in the loop (UiL), the latter introducing stochasticity in the system. The described in the paper structure of the UWSA could be the basis for the definition of model of a CPS with UiL reflecting the important system parameters and functional relationships for analyzing and optimizing system performance.","PeriodicalId":380950,"journal":{"name":"2017 Global Wireless Summit (GWS)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122061821","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various verticals across healthcare products and services are innovating at a faster rate than ever, and leveraging new technologies to improve the quality of services (QoS) and stay competitive. The global market for self-monitoring health technologies is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 28.3% from $20.7 billion in 2017 to reach $71.9 billion by 2022 [1], While there are numerous independent health monitoring products available for healthcare providers and consumers, this paper primarily focuses on a non-intrusive health monitoring system by combining Internet of Things (IoT) and e-commerce platform. The proposed product is a wearable smart shoe insole, which senses and tracks different attributes such as pressure, temperature, and humidity and then stores the data in a secure cloud. The users can connect with the shoe insole by using a software application on their hand-held devices. This allows easy access to the collected data and allows sharing with other users/community and/or the service providers, thereby providing the user a complete personalized end-to-end smart foot monitoring solution, at a relatively lower price and ease of use.","PeriodicalId":380950,"journal":{"name":"2017 Global Wireless Summit (GWS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124216094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach is cross-layer in that the optimization criterion is an energy efficiency metric defined in terms of the system throughput, thereby taking into account both data link and physical layer parameters. An iterative algorithm, which reduces the complexity associated with the optimal exhaustive search method, is proposed. Simulation results show that correlation reduces the energy efficiency and throughput of the MIMO system at high signal to noise ratio (SNR) values. Additionally, the results show that the iterative algorithm achieves near-optimal performance at all SNR values.","PeriodicalId":380950,"journal":{"name":"2017 Global Wireless Summit (GWS)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125190961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This growing trend has been the key motive behind the development of the 5G standard. SG is envisaged to cater for this rapid growth in user traffic, while providing ubiquitous connectivity for any kind of device and diverse applications with different requirements. However for SG to be deemed the \"silver bullet\" technology, it needs to be studied in the context of emerging markets, where there is limited infrastructure to satisfy the requirements of 5G. Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) have emerged as promising paradigms that can be adopted to pave the way for SG in emerging markets. In this paper we give an overview of the roles of SDN and NFV in enabling 5G technology specifically for emerging markets and propose a model for rapid rural infrastructure rollout thereof.","PeriodicalId":380950,"journal":{"name":"2017 Global Wireless Summit (GWS)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117326984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
