The objective of the study was to study the psychometric properties of the Parental Monitoring Questionnaire (PMQ). In a prospective study performed in public schools, with students of the 5th (n=415) and the 6th years (n=379), the PMQ, the Brazil Test, the Self-Concept Assessment Questionnaire and the Multidimensional Life Satisfaction Scale for Children were applied, with two collections. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were carried out to evaluate the fit of the structural model. The EFA indicated two factors, paternal monitoring and maternal monitoring, confirmed in the CFA, with acceptable indicators of internal consistency and stability. The PMQ was associated with performance in Portuguese, self-concept and satisfaction with life, particularly regarding the family. Teixeira, Jerusa Fumagalli de Salles","doi":"10.15689/AP.2019.1802.16917.10","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15689/AP.2019.1802.16917.10","url":null,"abstract":"Performance in Raven's test: Differences between children-adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Reading Disabilities This study compared the performance of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Reading Disabilites (RD) in the Raven's Colored Progressive Matrix Test (RCPM). A total of 70 children and adolescents aged 7 to 14 years, with ASD (n=16), with RD (n=19) and with typical development (TD, n=35) participated. Controlling the effect of age, the results indicated superior performance of the ASD group. The DL group presented inferior performance than the other groups in Part A and in the total test score when compared to the DT group. The performance of the TEA group was discussed from the Theory of Weak Central Coherence, while the performance of the DL group, based on the hypothesis of multiple deficits in dyslexia and considering the impact of less access to written materials in visuospatial skills. Therefore, the aim was to investigate the validation of the Interview Script of Educational Practices for Teachers (RE-HSE-Pr) instrument. The RE-HSEPr was developed in a similar way to other pre-existing instruments in which parents are the information source. After validation, it had 9 guide-questions organized on three information axes: Communication, Affection and Establishment of Limits. Participants were teachers of 283 pre-school and school age children, who answered both the RE-HSE-Pr and Teacher's Report Form (TRF). Evaluations of the construct and discriminant validity and reliability were performed, according to technical procedures. Two factors with adequate alpha (positive total; negative total) were identified, and discriminant analyses discriminated cases from non-cases; boys from girls and pre-school children from school children. The aim of this study was to revise the psychometric properties of the MLSS-C and create standards for its use. The sample was composed of data from 1181 children aged seven to 13 years (M=10.43; SD=1.78) from studies conducted in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed to evaluate the quality of the model fit. The reliability was estimated using Cronbach's alpha and McDonald’s omega. Results showed good model fit after the exclusion of 18 items, the Non-Violence dimension was also removed. Results indicated an improvement of its indexes after psychometric revision and an increase in the internal consistency of the subscales.
