We transpose Guthrie's letters in the alphabet Africa and correct Guthrie where he seemed to have been ill-informed: n.4 : la-ngelu = la-ngelo et lo-loudu = lo-loodu ; n.5 : laloudu = laloodu ; koke iamvudu = nkuke yamvudu ; n. 7, Absence = Existence. The translation of the text of Guthrie is returned in italics. In his work, Malcolm Guthrie distinguishes in the bantu 16 zones (A to S). In the C zone, the otetela has the acronym C71. The otetela area, the language spoken by the Ankutshu-Anaamongo (so articulated themselves the participants to the convention of Lodja in March 1960) is situated in the extreme of the southeast of the C zone, between the 2° and 5° L. S. and the 22° and 26° L. E. One can distinguish three regions: the median region of which the dialect monja/ewango is accepted like the otetela norm; the right region, between Lomame and Lualaba where one speaks the kusu dialect; the left region, between 22° and 23° L. E. where one speaks the ohendo/indanga or nkutshu. Dans The classification of the Bantu Languages, 1948, Malcolm Guthrie distingue dans le bantu 16 zones (A a S). \u0000(Annales AEquatoria, 22(2001): 163-183)

It is spoken by the Bohango whose origins are said to go back to Mpama in the territory of Lukolela passing by Lokongo L'owâki, in the sector of Lake Ntomba, where their elali or former village is located. This was before they occupied their present site: the Loondo grouping, in the sector of the Ekonda, Territory of Bikoro, in the Equator Province. The Bohango are established in the west of this Ekonda sector, where they are neighbours to the Ntomba and the Bolia. They live in the following villages: Bato, Binteke, Itonga, Mpangi and Nsoli. The Lohango language comprises two variants: one which is spoken at Binteke and Itonga and which is close to Lontomba with which it borders, and another one, which is the object of this study and which is closer to Lokonda. It is used at Bato, Mpangi and Nsoli and known also under the glossonym Lompangi, from the name of the big Mpangi village. However, the mixed use of Lontomba and Lokonda is observed in the two languages. A real war psychosis took hold of Coquilhatville, some Europeans becoming victims of an utter witch-hunt by the so-called "right-thinking" segment of the white population. The Africans observed all this tension within the white colonizing population with amazement and asked themselves a great number of questions. However, the administration censored all publications meant for them, preventing any mention of the war in Europe. On the other hand, these same Africans, closed off from any knowledge of the war, were expected to contribute to "the effort of war" through a new and devastating rubber campaign. Art being more eloquent and inconspicuous than speech, Father Jos Moeyens managed to insert a number of images protesting against this new rubber campaign in a rubber propaganda pamphlet from the Administration. Several domains are not touched upon. Other documents, like those of the local administration, the judiciary and the military, still have to be studied in order to complete the picture.
