The switch is modeled as a discrete time, batch arrival, multiserver queuing system, with infinite buffer and geometric service time. Many system measurements are analyzed. Expressions for the Probability Generating Functions (PGFs) of unfinished work, queuing time, and waiting time are obtained and expectations for the corresponding random variables are derived. The method depends on non-uniform spatial sampling (NUSS) of array elements. The elements are sequentially sampled but with overlapping “on” times so that two or more elements can be simultaneously on. Consequently, this type of sampling pass more power to the single RF channel in contrast with the uniform sampling which permits only one element to be on while the others are off. To validate the proposed method, it is compared to the time sequence phase weighting (TSPW) technique which uses phase shifters to recover the distribution on the aperture array. It is found that the NUSS system has less computational complexity and consequently it is more suitable for real-time realization. In KBA, the value of survivor paths K, can be fixed values only in all tree levels. These fixed values of K's give a certain performances at a certain complexities. In this paper, a new fractional K-best algorithm (FKBA) is proposed which gives a performance and complexity between these discreet performances and complexities for ordinary KBA, acts as if the values of K's are fractions (not integers). This can be achieved by increasing the number of survivor paths into K+Δ in some tree levels and stays K paths in other tree levels. The value of Δ in a specific tree level is resulted from the number of branches have distance metrics lower than or equal the value of average distance metric for all branches in the same tree level. Wassal","doi":"10.1109/JEC-ECC.2013.6766389","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/JEC-ECC.2013.6766389","url":null,"abstract":"The rise of Chip-Multiprocessors (CMPs) as a promising trend for the state of the art high-performance processors design raised the need for a scalable cache directory organization along with a simple cache coherence protocol as a hot research area. While thousands of cores are expected to fit on a single chip soon, the previously proposed cache directory schemes still lacks the scalability to accommodate more than tens of cores. The inefficiencies of these directory schemes come in the form of unaffordable memory overhead, excessive coherence traffic leading to performance degradation due to inexact representation of sharers and very complex coherence protocols. In this paper we introduce a new cache directory scheme for many core CMPs. The proposed scheme acquires, and actually improves, the scalability and low coherence traffic of cache-based linked list directory schemes while avoiding its completely sequential operation by exploiting the parallel operation of limited pointer directory schemes. We compare the proposed organization with these two previously proposed ones on different CMP configurations starting with a 4-core CMP and ending with a 32-core CMP. We show that the proposed scheme can avoid one third of the excessive broadcasted invalidation messages and two thirds of the extraneous acks in case of directory pointer overflows in limited pointer schemes. These two approaches involve the use of unipolar encoding which facilitates transmission through optical channels. Monte Carlo simulations have been carried out for the proposed system to evaluate its bit error rate (BER) performance. Our simulation results are then compared to that of both conventional ACO-OFDM and bipolar OFDM systems. It turned out that the proposed modifications improve the BER performance when compared to that of traditional systems. Specifically, in case of the first approach the performance of ACO-OFDM scheme can be improved by more than 3 dB when adopting the proposed modifications. Different issues are involved in the problem of vision based SLAM and many different approaches exist in order to solve these issues. Similarly the type of environment determines the suitable feature extraction method. The proposed UWB LNA employs common gate and common source stages configured as a current reuse topology. The UWB LNA has a maximum gain of 14 dB with minimum NF of 3.0 dB. Good input and output impedance matching are achieved over the operating frequency band. The proposed UWB LNA consumes only 2.0 mW from a 0.9V power supply.
