One possible security technique is to continuously change the binary code running of given software by recompiling it on the fly. This switching need to be done frequently, quickly, and randomly, not constrained by specific locations in code, to make it difficult for the hacker to track the behavior of the running code or predict its functionality. In our research we are working on a technique that recompiles speculatively and concurrently with current execution, and switches to the new compiled version dynamically, at arbitrary points. This paper presents an early analytical study augmented by experimental analysis on manually applying this technique on simple kernels, to study the concept in comparison with other similar techniques.","PeriodicalId":379820,"journal":{"name":"2013 Second International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121475791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are a wide variety of techniques to generate PWM signals. One of them is microcontroller-based PWM signal as used in PIC microcontroller. PIC-based embedded system developers can invoke a function called “PWM_Init” to program PIC microcontroller to produce PWM signal with a predefined fixed frequency. There are number of obstacles for using this method as: there is no chance to alter the frequency during execution time of the application. Also, there is limited number of PWM channels of PIC. Two-Timer Mechanism (TTM) is proposed to solve these problems. This paper presents a mathematical model and open source computer-based program called Pulse Width Modulation Tool. It is used for deciding the best prescalar value and best initial count value for two PIC timers that are used with TTM technique.","PeriodicalId":379820,"journal":{"name":"2013 Second International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126190545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system is supposed to work at a maximum theoretically distance of 18 m.We simulate two line-coding technique highly used in RFID: FM0 and Miller (MMS) coding. These two codes are implemented to encode the transmitted messages at the tag. Additionally, we save the data at the tag as pre-encoded bits using convolutional channel encoder with different code-rates, e.g., 1/2 and 1/3. Intuitively, our results using FM0 and MMS at the tag show that when M increases (for MMS), the detection improves; however, the data rate decreases. Moreover, the results for channel precoded cases promise for a larger Reader-Tag separation reaching 18 m. Even for extreme environments, assuming Rayleigh Fading channel, the frame-error ratio is promising.","PeriodicalId":379820,"journal":{"name":"2013 Second International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129623780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It improves segmentation and localization of anatomical structures of the image. In this paper, a new automatic method for preprocessing of digital color fundus images is proposed. First, a binary mask is generated using Gaussian filter to define the region of interest. Then intensity information is extracted from both red and green channels to obtain a modified intensity channel component. The performance of the proposed method has been evaluated using 241 images from three publicly available datasets. Experimental results show a visual enhancement of the retinal images with emphasis on the optic disc boundary.","PeriodicalId":379820,"journal":{"name":"2013 Second International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121488352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed structure consists of two microstrip open- loop resonators with electrical coupling. The reduction of the size of the proposed bandpass filter is achieved by combining the microstrip resonator with the lumped capacitors. The insertion of lumped capacitors within resonator was designed at maximum electric field.The insertion of lumped capacitors within resonator increases the effective capacitance and reduces the resonant frequency, so the dimensions of the filter will reduce and the performance of the filter will improve by enhancing the energy stored in the resonator. The design represents size reduction of more than 30 % compared to conventional filter without lumped capacitors. The filter has the characteristics of compact structure and low insertion loss. A second order band pass filter has been designed with rejection higher than 20dB and insertion loss lower than 0.7dB has been achieved within pass band.","PeriodicalId":379820,"journal":{"name":"2013 Second International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"299 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132728103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It proposes the application of a blind separation algorithm on Ridgelet Transform (RT) of the mixed images, instead of performing the separation on the mixtures in the time domain. Soft Wavelet thresholding denoising of the noisy mixtures is recommended in this paper as a preprocessing step for noise reduction. Ridgelet transform is a new directional multi-resolution transform and is more suitable for describing the signals with high dimensional singularities. Finite Ridgelet Transform (FRIT) is a discrete version of ridgelet transform, which is a numerical precision as the continuous ridgelet transform and has low computational complexity. Comparing with time domain, ridgelets find more application on image separation, hence it represents smooth and edge parts of image with sparsity. In addition, the representation of ridgelets contains more directional information. The mixtures images are extracted using ICA which is based on blind source separation technique. The simulation results reveal that the performance of ridgelet transform is better when compared to time domain in digital images separation. The Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Segmental Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNRseg) are used to evaluate the quality of the separated images.","PeriodicalId":379820,"journal":{"name":"2013 Second International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127798828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
