The procedure is based on the superposition of cyclically shifted binary m-sequences modulated with M-ary PAM and allows a flexible trade-off between data rate, energy efficiency and multipath fading resistance at a low electronic complexity. In this paper it is shown how channel equalization and MIMO is integrated in the PSSS-procedure supporting transmission in a strong ISI-environment. These PSSS variants operate in the time domain and require a relative simple hardware compared to OFDM methods. The basic outline of the method will be given with performance results. A user needs one IR remote control per one legacy consumer device and has to guarantee the line of sight towards legacy consumer devices. As the ubiquitous home era emerges, all home devices are required to be controllable at anytime and anywhere. To control IR-based legacy consumer devices regardless of the line of sight, a small ZigBee-based IR remote control repeater is attached near the IR receiving part of a legacy consumer device. It receives the control message via ZigBee protocol and converts the received message into IR signal which is transmitted to the legacy consumer device. To be available for any IR-based consumer device without any modification, it should be made universal and generalized. In this paper the terminal device using a microcontroller combines a GPS and a GSM/GPRS to make a portable and remote controlling device, and an embedded server is used as a transfer location server. In this way one accomplishes real-time vehicle trajectory monitoring. Clients can remotely monitor a vehiclepsilas position anywhere. For reliable detection using X-ray images, the contrast of foreign objects in the image is enhanced by reducing the texture intensity of the food substrate. Since the type and size of the foreign objects cannot be known in advance, we employ a one-class classification method to discriminate foreign objects from enhanced images. Foreign objects of diverse types and sizes were implanted in some packaged dry foods such as instant ramen, macaroni, and spaghetti. For real-time processing the max-min difference of the mask operation is utilized for features of discrimination. However, This assumption cannot be valid according to automatic gain control (AGC) schemes. If the independent AGC scheme which has difference gain for each receive path to minimize the quantization noise is employed, the AGC output noise is not white any more. Therefore, the colored noise effects due to AGC should be considered for the optimal detection. The unit was conceived to operate with low consumption as required for remote applications. The power supply is provided by a 230 VAC/12 VDC adapter or by internal rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries. The recorded data is stored in a 128 kbyte EEPROM and can be accessed by a single RS-232C port in a desktop or laptop PC through developed software.
