We analyzed the C/N0 measurements obtained at HKCL (22.296°N, 113.908°E) and HKQT (22.291°N, 114.213°E) sites during April 2014–April 2015. The two sites are equipped with the geodetic GNSS receiver Trimble NetR9 and are located nearly along the zonal (i.e., east-west) direction with a distance of ~31.38 km. Our statistical results showed that the occurrence rate of the events in which ZW < 24 km, 24 km ≤ ZW < 284 km, and 284 km ≤ ZW < 568 km was ~2%, ~44%, and ~54%, respectively. Our statistical results were in agreement with those of previous studies. Moreover, this investigation proved the viability of the approach, which deduces the zonal width of low-latitude F-layer irregularities by utilizing the 1-Hz C/N0 data of the B1I signals of the BDS GEO satellites gathered by two adjacent GNSS receivers.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117196479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the textile antenna when placed on human body goes through different bending and its performance gets altered. This paper presents design of two different textile antenna using polyester and denim as the substrate materials, where the radiating element and the ground is made from copper tape. The comparative study of polyester and denim textile antenna under various bending conditions due to non-identical human upper arm sizes (large, medium and small) for 5G mid band frequency has been analyzed. The analysis is presented comparatively from the simulated and optimized result using Computer Simulated Technology (CST) which focuses on the value of gain, antenna efficiency, bandwidth and directivity. It has been observed that denim textile antenna has covered desired frequency of 3.5 GHz with bandwidth of 140 MHz to 154.7 MHz in all the different bending conditions. Moreover, denim textile antenna obtained gain value above 2 dB in all the conditions. For polyester textile antenna, although it has covered 3.5 GHz during flat condition however as the bending angle increased, its resonance frequency shifted away from 3.5 GHz with insufficient bandwidth and low gain. At extreme bending of 72°, for both the antennas, there was frequency shifting in lower bands by 88.9 MHz (2.54%) for denim while it was 148.5 MHz (4.2%) for polyester.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123314217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These limits can make it difficult to employ motion capture in routine training or rehabilitation situations and there is an evident need for the development of automated markerless systems. It is vital to select the right technical equipment and algorithms for accurate markerless motion capture. This paper discusses the markerless human motion capture method for landmark detection using the open-source library OpenPose during the Modified Dynamic Gait Index (m-DGI) assessment. The m-DGI research covered the following phases: gait level surface, change in gait speed, gait with horizontal head turns and gait with vertical head turns. The four stages in m-DGI were captured using two Canon EOS 90D DSLR cameras. The videos were recorded in frontal and side views (subjects moved toward the front camera) and the source code of OpenPose's human skeleton identification system can extract the image into a sequence of frames from the recorded video. This method processes every frame of extracted images in OpenCV-Python to detect the human skeleton key points. The application of this methodology in research and clinical practice has the potential to provide easy, time-efficient, and perhaps more relevant assessments of human mobility.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127071443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This new technology illustrates new developments in communications systems, because CR allows usage of the frequency spectrum more efficiently. As an example of the challenges related to CR system is the detection of the founded authorized users (PU) over a large range of frequency band at a precise time called sensing time (Ts). To increase the detection reliability of the primary users at minimum sensing time, an adaptive CR system have been built in this work based on neural network to identify if signal or noise. The system consists of feature extraction and decision stages was designed with help of Numeral Virtual Generalizing RAM (NVG-RAM) weightless neural network (WNN). Obtained simulation results of the proposed system are tested at different noisy channels: as AWGN and fading channels (Rayleigh and Rician). The results shows that probability of detection (Pd)=100% at -38 dB. at very low sensing time equal to 0.4 msec. A novel technique is also presented to estimate SNR for CR by statistical features by calculation the moment and cumulants for different modulated noisy signals. This is an indirect method for SNR measurements based on statistical features.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121623459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smaller satellites such as Cube-Sats and Nano-satellites are turning out to be extremely useful for research purposes as they are cost and space effective. In order to support and promote space research in academic institutions, student satellite projects are being encouraged. These projects help students to work closely with space industry professionals in order to gain knowledge about satellites and their functioning. However a satellite consists of different components each one of which has a different design approach and require different technical expertise. In this paper a preliminary approach for designing an Electrical Power System for a CubeSat is proposed along with modelling and simulation of the same in LTspice which is a spice based simulation software. Complete Electrical Power System has been designed for both Direct Energy Transfer and Maximum Power Point Tracking type architectures and simulation results for the same have been presented.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116811115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key drawbacks of a high PAPR are increased complexity in analog to digital and digital to analog converters, as well as a reduction in RF amplifier efficiency. Filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) is suggested as an alternative to OFDM to reduce the effect of PAPR. The PAPR component of the FBMC-OQAM technique is extremely high but it is less than PAPR in OFDM most of the time. In this paper, a comparative study of the effect of PAPR between OFDM and FBMC systems at the different number of subcarriers, symbols, and FFT points are presented. The simulation results confirm the improved PAPR performance of FBMC compared to OFDM. The results also show that the effect of PAPR is minimized when fewer number symbols, subcarriers and FFT points are used.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129667853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, energy extraction potential from a primary arc up to 0.2 A of 4 µs duration initiated at a triple junction has been investigated using a thermoelectric generator module. The temperature of the primary arc is calculated to be 3901.70 K and considered as the hot end temperature of the module. A hybridized model of a unit thermoelectric generator module is analyzed using COMSOL Multiphysics 5.3a. Considering a cold end temperature of 325.45 K during the eclipse, the TEG yields a maximum output power of 64.74 mW for an arc current of 0.2 A at a single triple junction. Over its entire duration of 4 µs, the instantaneous power generated by a thermoelectric generator has been calculated. Finally, by employing this model on a typical geostationary satellite, e.g. WINDS GEO satellite, the total energy harvested is calculated to be 3.13 mJ for approximately 26774 arcs on its 8760 triple junctions over its lifespan of 11 years. Although the total harvested energy is not significant for geostationary satellites, this energy can be used in low power applications where frequent arcing occurs.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128835053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These GNSS signals can be used to determine the position and time of an object such as a human, a vehicle, and many other objects. Moreover, in this study, GNSS signals were used to determine the soil geophysical movement based on the signal positioning of the receiver station. A signal processing method has been applied to find the best feature extraction method for normal and abnormal signal classification. A set of GNSS signals has been acquired from a land deformation monitoring station in China that contains 3 months of the continuous GNSS signal. The signal is then processed and extracted using time series analysis and statistical approach to determine the normal and abnormality of the soil movement. There were three (3) periodic terms involved in the GNSS signal processing which velocity, distance, and acceleration. These 3 properties were used to analyze the normal and abnormality of soil movement that will be contributed to a landslide. Finally, the experimental results have proved that the feature extraction method on GNSS signal was found to be able to produce significant features to detect normal and abnormal land deformation.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"158 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122030014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of antenna can be applied in various fields, such as the health, social, rescue, and military fields. This paper presents the performance of textile antennas with cordura substrate operating at the ISM band frequency in free-space condition and on-body condition. The substrate uses cordura fabric, while the radiating element uses copper yarn stitches. This study discusses the results of the simulation and measurement of the textile antenna. Through the measurement results, the performance of the antenna in the free space condition is better than the on-body condition with a VSWR value of 1.12 and a gain of 5.82 dBi. In addition, the Specific Absorption Ratio (SAR) value of 1.15 W/kg was obtained which states that the antenna is safe for use on the body because it is below the safe threshold, which is 1.6 W/kg. From the data obtained, the proposed antenna has good performance in both conditions and can be used for biomedical applications.","PeriodicalId":378366,"journal":{"name":"2021 7th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116406263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
