Considering that gender inequalities are the result of gender constructs of nationalist ideologies, this study examines militarism that is based on gender constructs during the pandemic period in Turkey. Focusing on militarism during the pandemic, which is not directly related to military service or war, provides an opportunity to examine militarism as a social process, thereby understanding the extent to which militarism is naturalized. Militarist discourse was examined via content analysis of newspapers in which the pandemic and the struggle against the pandemic are explained in line with the war metaphor. The father role of a man is affected by this transformation on both individual and societal levels. Today, the internet and communication technologies serve as a medium for the realization, representation, and propagation of transformations experienced in the perception of fatherhood through online domains where fatherhood performances are exhibited. Given this, the study focuses on online and public sharing practices on blogs according to the meanings attributed to gender roles by blogger fathers in Turkey. Nitel arastirma yontemi kullanilarak yurutulen calismada, kartopu ornekleme yoluyla Izmir’de dogup buyudugu saptanan 14 katilimci ile yari yapilandirilmis gorusme formu kullanilarak derinlemesine gorusme gerceklestirilmistir. Calismadan elde edilen erkeklik kurgusuna iliskin arastirma verileri, farkli illerde gerceklestirilen calismalar isiginda analiz edilmistir. Diger calismalarda, erkekligin kurulmasi yolunda gecilen asamalardan biri olarak askerlige yapilan vurgunun, bu calisma kapsaminda soylem duzeyinde kendini gostermedigi fakat erkekligin insasinda ailedeki diger erkeklerin ve ozellikle babanin basat rolunun bu calisma kapsaminda da erkeklik icin gecerli oldugu gorulmustur. Calismada Izmirli erkek olmanin, centilmenlik, kibarlik, egitimli olma, kadinlara ‘saygi’ gosterme, zeki olma gibi ozellikler uzerine kuruldugu belirlenmistir. The most likely reason for this is that with the increasing prevalence of social media, communication scholars have turned their attention to this area. This study focuses on social media research in the communication discipline. The aim of the study is to reveal research trends and patterns of social media-based communication research. To achieve this, the study analyzes 120 articles published between 2011 and 2020 in academic journals indexed in Web of Science and with a high number of citations. By using qualitative content analysis technique, each article was examined and coded under six categories: (i). primary topic of the study, (ii). use of theories or theoretical models, (iii). types of sample, (iv). research methods, (v). social media platform, (vi). research area/locations. Before discussing whether media archaeology is a discipline, it focuses on three distinct fields. These three distinct fields are three distinct branches of media archaeology. Afterward, it focuses on four different approaches for the media archaeology: The old in the new; the new in the old; cyclical; ruptures and discontinuities. Moreover, this article considers two key hypotheses developed by Goddard (2015). Firstly, media archaeology can be thought of ‘an epistemological break’ within modern media theory and media history. Secondly, media archaeology concentrates on material ecologies of media objects, systems and processes. As it can be seen in literature, media archaeology is both the proof of ‘an epistemological break’ in modern media theory and media history, and contributes to media studies as ‘a materialist epistemology’. Giderek ozerk bir alan haline gelmeye baslayan Facebook calismalarinin kullanicilari odaga aldigi ve oldukca farkli disiplinler tarafindan calisildigi gorulmustur. Her disiplinin kendi terminolojisini aktardigi bu calismalarda, uluslararasi literaturde yogun sekilde tartisilmakta olan metodoloji, veri toplamada etik sorunlar ve mecranin ozgun boyutu gibi konulara sinirli bir sekilde yer verildigi gorulmustur. Calismalarin orneklem seciminde en cok yer tutan gruplar, ogrenciler ve gencler oldugu tespit edilmistir.
