The integration of DGs in the main grid or in forming a standalone microgrid (MG) is increasing day by day and became as an alternative solution to large conventional central power stations and as a key for the electrification of rural areas. This paper presents an overall comparison of controlling the MG system combining between different DGs in islanded mode. Energy management system (EMS) applied is mainly an essential task to maintain an ideal flow of energy in between generation and consumption, many are strategies to do so, the artificial intelligence (AI) (highlighted) is one of the most advantages methods to help sizing, optimizing, and power energy managing. To solve this problem in this paper we present a Fuzzy Logic Control of isolated MG in comparison with a classic PI control system to see the different influences in maintaining stability in voltage and frequency output especially in the standalone application. The considered HRES combines a wind turbine (WT) and photovoltaic (PV) and an energy storage system (ESS). Big Data, Internet of Things and Networked Cyber-Physical Systems, together with the concepts of Cloud, Fog and Edge Computing, have tremendous impact on the development of Smart City, reforming its frame and tasks and redefining its requirements and challenges. We consider feasible architectures of the IT infrastructure and signal processing, taking into account aspects of Big Data, followed by summary of benefits and main challenges, like security of infrastructure and private data. As a practical example we present a public safety application of multi-sensor imaging system: a smart device with target detection subsystem based on artificial intelligence used for activation of target tracking. The experiments have been performed in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Belgrade, which have very different environment. The proposed dependence is derived from the Kloss equation for torque-speed relation for the induction machine. Also, the analytical solution for the maximal value of the acceleration is derived in this paper. The results obtained using developed expressions are compared with corresponding results obtained using the developed Matlab/Simulink model for analyses of the induction machine starting the process. It comprises 12 pyramidal horn antennas placed in a linear geometry for transmission, and these are used in the detection of the motion of a target (for example a landslide or other terrestrial deformation). The low half power beam width (19.76° at θ = 90°) of the transmitting radiation pattern of MELISSA results in low coverage area of the target. This paper proposes two alternative types of horn antenna for the current transmitter module of MELISSA, namely the cantenna and coaxial cavity horn antenna, for installation in a 2×6 planar antenna array. A higher value of the 3 dB beamwidth is observed using these arrays (38.320 at θ = 90° and 104.80 at φ = 0° for the cantenna array and 410 at θ = 90° and 140.40 at φ = 0° for the coaxial cavity horn antenna array). The overall gain of the proposed systems is around 10 dBi, and the efficiencies are between 85% and 90%. Using the Dolph Chebyshev beamforming technique on the proposed antenna arrays yields a zero sidelobe level, which improves the overall peak sidelobe ratio of the system and in turn the quality of the images obtained. Indices calculation are based on one image (the surface and the vegetation indices temperature, indices of objects detection on the ground and etc.) and their time series (conducting temporal processing). The downloading of the sources of satellite images algorithm from the sites archives of geodata from the initial data download (the observation area, stage, time period, etc.) is also represented. The procedure of cutting images into segments of varying sizes is described. It allows to use the ?contents? of image both in general and for each pixel of the earth's surface to have a whole time series of the spectral brightness coefficients. Systems based on Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) methods can significantly increase spectral efficiency through parallel transmission using several transmitters and receivers. Such systems are particularly attractive for use in underwater acoustic communications systems, which are normally bandwidth-reduced. MIMO system along with OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) is a popular technology used in wireless networks to provide a high data transfer rate and resistance to multipath and fading of the channel. The implementation of such a system requires being aware of the channel condition at the receiver, and can be provided by means of using channel parameter estimation schemes. The adaptation task on the receiving side, apart from peak of pattern formation in the direction of the signal expected, also includes the interference-source suppression, that is, the issue of implementing spatial filtering of interference from other directions. However, since the signal and noise direction of arrival are unknown, we get a system with adaptive antenna array (AA). Lj.","doi":"10.2298/sjee1902161s","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2298/sjee1902161s","url":null,"abstract":", Abstract: This paper deals with the problem of nonlinear optimization of proportional-integral (PI) controller in doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), modeled by the detailed differential-algebraic equations (DAEs), and connected to a power system, where rest of the power system is represented only by measurements in connection point. The basic functions of PI controllers are secondary regulation of speed–active power and reactive power–voltage of multiple DFIGs connected in the same point (typical situation in wind farms). In the presence of PI controllers, stability of the transient responses depends largely on its parameters (proportional and integral part). To calculate optimal parameters of the PI controllers, an ‘Extremum Seeking’ (ES) algorithm was used, more precisely, its version that assumes that gradient can be calculated [hence the name ‘Gradient Extremum Seeking’ (GES)]. Optimization of the PI controller parameters is performed for a list of major disturbance trajectories recorded in historical database. The results obtained using the IEEE 14-bus test system show that PI controller parameters must be carefully chosen. This paper proposes direct and indirect STC plans that can be applied to a chemical process system with a time delay auto-regressive and exogenous model of a varied time constant. The plan controller is a combination of a generalized minimum variance control (GMVC) strategy and an identification algorithm (simplified parameter) called recursive least squares to estimate controller parameters for the direct method and plan parameters for the indirect method. A rapid and precise grid voltage phase and frequency estimation under a wide spectrum of possible grid disturbances is its main objective. This paper compares popular grid synchronization algorithms on grid voltage anomalies. The compared algorithms are divided in three groups: without filtering, with filtering in synchronous reference frame and with filtering in stationary reference frame. The behaviour of the algorithms is tested in a laboratory, using dSpace 1103 as a platform on which the algorithms are compiled and OMICRON CMC 356 as a programmable grid voltage generator. The benchmarks conducted in this paper include voltage sags, grid voltages harmonics, DC offset and frequency step change. In this paper we present four online transaction scheduling algorithms, namely, RR, ETLB, AC, and AAC algorithm, we prove their correctness and time bounds, and we conduct a theoretical analysis of the transaction schedules they produce, using three different workloads (RDW, CFW, and WDW). Finally, we compare various features of the four algorithms.
