KDB is a bias inherent in individual, particularly corporate CEO resulted from his/her great authority. A CEO with KDB will assume that his/her company has investment opportunities in the future and, thus, reduce dividend in anticipation of acquiring an investment opportunity in the future. Some opinions argue that KDB’s benefit will be maximal when the confidence is at moderate level. A manager is deemed able to contribute to his/her company, have a good innovation level, have optimal motivation level, and present lower level of cost of debt or capital and optimal amount and rate of investment return. Too low or too high KDB is deemed only to pose negative impact on company value as resulted from non-optimal degree of leverage and investment.","PeriodicalId":376296,"journal":{"name":"Diponegoro International Journal of Business","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126595347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Particularly, we examine whether the foreign ownership can improve or reduce the performance and risk. Vice versa, it also examine whether performance and risk may also influence the foreign ownership of stock. We utilized samples from the 100 Kompas Index from the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX), and we obtained 87 stocks from 2011-2017. We analyzed the relationship using ordinary least square by EViews 10.0. The result shows that the foreign ownership contributes positively to the improvement of performance, although the performance does not affect significantly to foreign ownership. Then, the relationship between the foreign ownership and the risk are not significant. The relationship the risk to the foreign is also not significant. To commence with, the foreign has an essential role in the improvement of Indonesian stock performance.","PeriodicalId":376296,"journal":{"name":"Diponegoro International Journal of Business","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125520065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
