EMC problems can be formulated in terms of Partial Differential Equations (PDE) to be solved numerically by means of some discretization techniques such as the Finite Element Method (FEM), the Finite Difference Time Domain Method (FDTD) or they can be formulated in terms of Integral Equations (IE) to be solved numerically by application of the Method of Moments (MOM). In this paper some aspects regarding the possibility to use the FEM to analysis and compute the disturbance field produced by signal and supply traces of a printed circuit board (PCB) are presented.","PeriodicalId":375963,"journal":{"name":"Signals, Circuits and Systems, 2003. While the small-scale transitions can be treated as linear transitions, the large ones must be carefully considered in order to model the equivalent natural transition. When glottal excitation is active during such transitions, specific sounds are produced that require explicit treatment. Our approach to modeling large-scale formant transitions in Klatt-type synthesizers refers to dividing the large transition period into segments of reduced slope (relative steady state) and large slope (transitions between steady states). The short constant frequency segments are created by inserting the corresponding allophones, described by the respective formantic set. The modeling process is exemplified by the case of semivowel i. As a starting point for the synthesis, we analyze words containing semivowel i as part of diphthongs preceded by unvoiced or voiced palatal consonants. The presented configurations employ minimum number of active and passive elements, namely one differential difference current conveyor (DDCC) as active element and two capacitors and two resistors as passive elements. The proposed filters can realize the low-pass, high-pass and band-pass responses. The new configurations offer very high input impedance, which enables easy cascading and enjoy low sensitivities. The natural frequency ωo and the quality factor Q of the filters are orthogonally adjustable. However, the output frequency of the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) is not restricted to integral multiples of the reference signal only. Rather, it can also be locked to the fractional multiples, with the result of a substantial reduction of the frequency tuning step in the useful bandwidth of the PLL without reduction of its pass band. Consequently, these frequency synthesizers have both high frequency resolution and short settling time, two essential requirements for modern applications, for example, in modern radio sets. The major difficulties are spurious signals generated in fractional divider system. In this paper, the new fractional PLL frequency synthesizer with Σ-Δ modulator is described. This technique can be applied on all traffic and signaling channels, except for the broadcast common control channel (BCCH), which must transmit on a fixed frequency in order to make possible correct RXLEV measurements for the neighbor cell mobiles based on Recommendation GSM 05.08. The SFH improves the link quality (mainly for slow moving mobiles) and increases the network capacity according to J. Charles (1998).
