However, their training suffers from a crucial problem mainly in the construction of the adapted learning process according to the needs of the learner. In fact thousands of educational resources are available through the web today. Therefore, the learner gets lost and hesitated to choose the most adequate educational resources according to their preferences and state of knowledge. This paper aims to define reusable, accessible and adapted educational resources. For reusing phase, we propose to define a composed educational resource by assembling existing resources through an appropriate schema called also a narrative structure. For the adaptation, we propose a new general learner model. We treat not only the pedagogic aspect, but also the psychological aspect of the learner by including models from cognitive theories such as the MBTI model (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator).","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132824627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, according to different research works, educational games have made learners more motivated and interested in learning. At the same time, learning analytics is gaining an increasing attention because it supports evaluating the learner, the given courses and the learning environment. This paper presents a newly designed educational game for teaching computer architecture subject. Learning analytics was used to evaluate the game. The obtained results showed that: (1) The game is efficient in teaching computer architecture subject. (2) Further support for female learners is needed during the learning-playing process. (3) Some of the game learning activities require further design enhancement to be noticeable by learners during the learning-playing process. (4) Further motivational game elements are needed during the learning-playing process.","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128314852","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The set of views are automatically generated around OX, OY and OZ by rotating each 3D object of database through 360° with taking views at pose intervals of 45°, given 24 images per object. The obtained views are afterward described by two descriptors: Angular Radial transform adopted by MPEG-7 and Fourier descriptor. The similarity of 3D objects is calculated as a linear combination of euclidian metrics. In order to lower the cost of search, we propose to apply a mapping from metric space to vector space of 3D descriptors by using a contractive function. We have implemented an application for indexing and retrieval of 3D objects by using Princeton 3D Shape Benchmark database. The performance of our retrieval system was measured in terms of recall and precision and Computation efficiency. The obtained results prove the effectiveness of proposed method and its superiority over automatic selection based on Curvature Scale Space.","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132911425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we present a simple system currency recognition system applied on Egyptian banknote. Our proposed system is based on simple image processing utilities that insure performing the process as fast and robust as possible. The basic techniques utilized in our proposed system include image foreground segmentation, histogram enhancement, region of interest (ROI) extraction and finally template matching based on the cross-correlation between the captured image and our data set. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can recognize Egyptian paper money with high quality reaches 89% and short time.","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"176 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134326301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, a significant number of relevant documents on the web are not returned by an IRS (specifically a search engine), because of the richness of natural language Arabics. For this purpose the search engine does not reach high performance and does not meet the needs of users. To remedy this problem, we propose a method of enrichment of the query. This method relies on many steps. First, identification of significant terms (simple and composed) present in the query. Then, generation of a descriptive list and its assignment to each term that has been identified as significant in the query. A descriptive list is a set of linguistic knowledge of different types (morphological, syntactic and semantic). In this paper we are interested in the statistical treatment, based on the similarity method. This method exploits the weighting functions of Salton TF-IDF and TF-IEF on the list generated in the previous step. TF-IDF function identifies relevant documents, while the TF-IEF's role is to identify the relevant sentence. The terms of high weight (which are terms which may be correlated to the context of the response) are incorporated into the original query. The application of this method is based on a corpus of documents belonging to a closed domain.","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127545899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we develop a cognitive radio access strategy based on the implementation of a dynamic genetic algorithm for CR. The crossover and mutation operators are developed to keep the channel allocation plan always in the appropriate state. Based on these techniques, reasonable implementation is proposed. Results demonstrate that our algorithm obtains satisfactory result with all satisfying network interference and reduce the number of used channels.","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128151046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These digital technologies, in particular video games, have provided new opportunities for these kids to play, communicate with others, foster their imagination and also enhance their educational performance. Unfortunately, this can be a little more different for deaf and hard of hearing children, whose native language is Sign Language (SL). The most existing video games are not geared to the unique need of these hearing disabled: there have been, even timidly, few attempts that focusing on the development of accessible educational games that could meet the requirements necessary for deaf gamers and improve their educational potential. In this context, we present in this paper a design for an interactive game generator of an accessible and effective educational game target towards the deaf and hard of hearing children. The game is called MemoSign, it federates the use of the famous memory game and a 3D signing avatar to support learning the SL notation system SignWriting. The main goal of designing such game generator is to help teachers, even parents, to create many instances of MemoSign, in few steps without any programming language knowledge, with a view to foster and promote the vocabulary acquisition for deaf learners in both signed and spoken languages.","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115077956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The survey was conducted in three different cities, in the school year: 2014-2015. 86 teachers and 2,304 students participated at the study and helped its success. The study consists on gathering, according to teachers' experiences, the famous mistakes encountered by the pupils while learning Arabic language and the different reasons behind the low academic achievement. The study has two items: the first is a questionnaire dedicated to teachers, and the second is diagnosis for students. The diagnosis revealed that a remarkable rate of learning disabled (dyslexics and dysgraphics) pupils is hidden indoors of Moroccan primary schools while the teachers turn blind eyes and the educational system policy turns deaf ears.","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115112761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its objective is to assess the level of ambiguity caused by the absence of diacritical marks in Arabic texts during the information extraction process. We have carried out a statistical study based on four indicators: the root, the lemma, the stem and the POS tag of the word. For this, we used a large vowelized corpus containing more than 80 million words collected from several sources. The conducted study showed that the absence of diacritical marks in Arabic texts represents the main cause of the ambiguity observed in the information extraction process. Thus, based on this study we can conclude that the use of a vowelized corpus reduces considerably the ambiguity.","PeriodicalId":375443,"journal":{"name":"2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124896811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
