In many classical as well as contemporary methodologies, metamodels are used as surrogates of circuit simulators to increase computational efficiency of performance specifications, and with accuracy comparable to simulation results. The accuracy of a metamodel depends on its type and the experimental design used to generate it. Two prevalent metamodel types include the classical Response Surface Models (RSMs), and the more recent and increasingly more popular Kriging metamodels. This work compares RSM and Kriging metamodels in analog circuit design, whereby we conclude that the increased popularity of the Kriging techniques may be unjustifiable‐‐provided that minimum bias experimental designs are used in RSMs generation.","PeriodicalId":375340,"journal":{"name":"2022 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"543 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116229246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed coupler is considered to be the first bi-directional coupler that is realized using gap waveguide technology. It operates at frequency band of 14–17 GHz. The quasi-transverse electromagnetic (Q-TEM) SIGW based coupler is excited through a co-planar waveguide (CPW). The proposed design is characterized by its compactness, planar profile structure and low signal dispersion. The design parameters were optimized using Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method of analysis (CST microwave studio). The presented coupler is designed to be used as a feeding network for radar beam steering applications, adaptive antennas and beam forming networks. Furthermore, it can be considered as a good candidate in terms of power conservation concept.","PeriodicalId":375340,"journal":{"name":"2022 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125570190","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The accumulation of dust on the solar panels significantly degrades output from these panels. Hence, solar PV panels have to be cleaned manually or using costly automated cleaning methods. This paper focuses on reducing the maintenance costs by initiating cleaning actions when the dust level exceeds a threshold value. The amount of dust accumulated on the PV panels is estimated using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Experiments are conducted to collect the required data which are used in training the ANN model. Then, this ANN model will be fed by the output power from solar panels, ambient temperature, and solar irradiance and thus, it will be able to estimate the amount of dust accumulated on solar panels at these conditions. A sample case study shows that the proposed approach can schedule the cleaning actions to reduce the energy loss due to dust by 60% while saving 80% of the maintenance cost compared to daily cleaning.","PeriodicalId":375340,"journal":{"name":"2022 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131162691","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, in this study, an analytical expression for the distribution of the total amount of data that can be transmitted over a multi-state wireless channel is derived. This is done by characterizing the channel behavior using a system of partial differential equations (PDEs). The proposed system of PDEs is then used to obtain the distribution of the total amount of data that can be transmitted through the underlying wireless channel. The solution is presented analytically for different situations where the channel could initially be at the steady state or at any arbitrary initial state. Moreover, using Monte-Carlo simulations, a comparative study is carried out to verify the accuracy of the resulting distributions.","PeriodicalId":375340,"journal":{"name":"2022 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123447938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, the inherent misalignments during the vehicle's motion impact the coupling performance of the wireless inductive link and reduce the power received by the EV from wireless charging. Several coil design enhancements can be adopted to improve the misalignment tolerance of DWC systems. In this work, the addition of a quadrature component on the secondary charging pad is investigated and the performance of the resulting double-D quadrature coil is evaluated against that of a stand alone DD coil. Simulations reveal an improvement in the misalignment tolerance range when the quadrature coil is utilized, as long as the current flow direction is matched between the secondary Q coil and the coupled rectangular portion of the primary DD coil. This needs to be further enhanced through the design of power and current control loops, as well as optimization of quadrature coil design and placement, for improved misalignment performance.","PeriodicalId":375340,"journal":{"name":"2022 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125228658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides QoS, IEEE 802.16 has a data throughput of 100Mbps and a range of 50 kilometers. VoIP “Voice over Internet Protocol” is a versatile and low-cost telephone solution for IP customers. However, many problems remain to be overcome in order to provide a reliable and high-quality audio connection via the Internet. In this paper, the difference in the path of mobile movement through the WiMAX network is studied, as it used types of trajectories (star, square, and Triangle) while making one of the mobiles is fixed without movement and making a comparison between them. A four-cell scenario is presented. One mobile station and one base station are found in each cell. To determine the optimum “VoIP” performance, network performance parameters such as throughput, MOS, jitter, pathloss, and SNR for mobiles 1-1 and 2-1 were used. OPNET 14.5. was used to examine the performance. According to the results, the Throughput and MOS were better when using the Triangle Trajectory, but the result of the jitter was better when using the fixed-mobile compared to the rest of the results and has shown that the inwards trajectory results in improving the efficiency of the network due to the fact that the mobile node gets closer to the base station. Also the value of the pathloss that obtain from mobile1-1(square trajectory) is greater than value obtain by mobile2-1(star trajectory). But the value of SNR in mobile1-1 is less than the value of SNR in mobile2-1","PeriodicalId":375340,"journal":{"name":"2022 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126778821","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, low accuracy, minimal ease of automation, slow detection speed, and limited robustness are still serious problems. For this purpose, this paper proposes a YOLO v3-based algorithm for detecting surface defects on hot-rolled steel strips. One, 4 residual layers (res_units) are formed by applying neural convolutions, batch normalization (BN) and leaky RELU activation to eliminate gradient vanishing and maximize feature extraction and learning ability of the network. Second, a 4-scale feature map operation is used to improve the detection operation, increasing the grid size of the image features obtained from the previous operation to improve detection. The 4 scale detection is used in this study for accurate and stable detection of the surface defects as they are not fixed size targets. Finally, the 3-scale upsampling layer is used, where the spatial resolution of the image is increased before scaling, followed by a concatenation operation that concatenates outputs of the current layer with the previous layer. Both quantitative and qualitative experimental results show that the optimized YOLO v3 model proposed in this paper in terms of mean average precision (mAP) in detecting flaws on hot rolled steel surfaces with a mAP of 100% and a recall of 95% performs better more accurately than the original YOLO v3 network, Faster RCNN and Xception network. The experimental results of the YOLO v3 model proposed in this paper show an optimal and balanced performance, suitable for use as a qualified network that meets the industrial needs of the hot rolled steel strip industry.","PeriodicalId":375340,"journal":{"name":"2022 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126168255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach consists of three phases. Specifically, in the first phase, we utilize the principle component analysis transformation to reduce the dimensionality of the CSI data and produce a set of principal components that can explain the variance within the CSI data. In the second phase, we extract 17 time- and frequency-domain features from the computed principal components obtained from the first phase. Furthermore, the minimum redundancy maximum relevance algorithm is applied to select a subset of the extracted features. Finally, in the third phase, we use the selected features to build a set of support vector machine classifiers to recognize the performed two-human interactions. A publicly available CSI dataset, which includes CSI signals that were acquired from 40 pairs of subjects while executing 13 two-human interactions, was used to assess the performance of our proposed approach. The average accuracy achieved by our proposed approach was 86.21%. Moreover, the reported results illustrate the efficacy of our proposed approach to accurately recognize various two-human interactions.","PeriodicalId":375340,"journal":{"name":"2022 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133999341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
