It is aimed in this study to investigate the EM behavior of conducting thin wires. The radar cross section (RCS) value of a thin wire varies depending on the angle of incidence and frequency of the electromagnetic wave. Wire targets are considered in this study as cylindrical object, and the monostatic RCS simulation results are obtained depending on the frequency and the angle of incidence of the wave. As a result of these simulations, it has been surprisingly observed that the RCS value increased with the decrease in frequency in case for oblique incidence angle for thin wires, while for normal incidence angles we observed an inverse relationship as expected. High range and cross range resolution are needed for the high detection accuracy and at the same time to distinguish the multiple wires. In this study, to meet these requirements stripmap mode SAR system is established experimentally with high bandwidth signal. Time Domain Back Projection (TDBP) algorithm is applied to the measured SAR raw data and SAR images of wires are obtained. This architecture provides reduced complexity of the data path, the required flexibility and adding new software functions to the vehicle system easily. Service discovery is the technology to automatically detect services and devices on a network. The node which requests for data becomes the client and the node which provides the data becomes the server. Services can miss subscription attempts by a client during service discovery since their nodes are running after client node in a network. This situation increases system startup time when there is no organization to align services and clients. Association Rule Mining is a machine learning method to find associations and relationships among sets of data. The relationships between services and clients can be determined via this method. The startup time can be improved according to frequently used services and clients order. The rate of missing subscription attempts is reduced with alignment. The purpose of this study is reducing network startup time, which is increased by the service discovery process. The network, which has four services and eight clients, is created as a simulation of four Electronic Control Units. As a result of this study, the network startup time is improved almost three times even for only eight clients. However, as the functional complexity increases, more safety related efforts are required to comply with the automotive safety standards. In order to overcome this problem, safety-critical and non-safety critical software could be isolated within separate embedded platforms. With this paper, we present CLADIS, a Linux-based software platform that is used for creating digital cluster applications with complex features. The software platform allows the development of informational driver assistance applications on top of digital clusters. For this purpose, the relationship between scene information and required playback time has been formalized. We propose a data set that consists of several YouTube videos from different categories. Our learning powered model mainly relies on some statistical extractive summarization techniques and various additional features such as context-specific important words. Furthermore, we have incorporated our model with a success-proven summarization model and studied its impact on the results. Throughout the country, efforts are underway to not only expand the utility grid to these regions but also to provide reliable off-grid access to electricity. The Cameroonian company Solahydrowatt is currently working on the design and planning of one of the very first hybrid solar-hydropower plants of Cameroon in Fotetsa, in the western region of the country to provide the population with reliable access to electricity. This paper models and proposes a design for the low-voltage network with a hybrid solar-hydropower plant in Fotetsa. The modelling takes into consideration the voltage compliance of the distribution network, the maximum load of operating equipment and most importantly the ability for the network to operate as an off-grid system. Such multi-output converters with better power processing density and reliability can be well suited for systems with simultaneous dc and ac loads, as nano-grids in residential applications. The proposed converter is called a boost-derived hybrid converter (BDHC) as it is obtained from the conventional boost topology. A suitable pulse width modulation (PWM) control strategy, based upon unipolar sine-PWM, is used and described. A PID controller is designed to generate the pulses to regulate the dc as well as ac outputs voltage for different load conditions. Modular multi-level converter (MMC) has been recognized as the most prominent topology in building HVDC systems due to its numerous advantages over other converter topologies due to its salient features. Today many solutions are proposed for the issues related to the operation, control, and protection of MMCs using different simulation platforms and small prototypes. In this research work, the MMC and its controller are designed and tested under a real-time simulation environment using a hardware in loop (HIL) setup. The three-phase MMC circuit designed in MATLAB is loaded in NI PXI. The NLM controller designed in LabView is then loaded on an FPGA-based Compact RIO controller to control the circuit running in PXI. The real-time simulation environment enables engineers and researchers to develop and test their proposed controllers without involving and damaging the costly hardware equipment. The results obtained using real-time simulation mimic the actual behavior of the controller. The developed MMC possesses an improved power quality and a very low total harmonic distortion (THD) maintaining a modulation index of 0.8. DPN causes motor disability, such as nerve damage and muscle weakness, which leads to an increased risk in falling during performance of activities of daily living (ADL). The extent of muscle weakness can be detected via analysis of surface electromyography (EMG) data. The objective of this study was to investigate if DPN patients were at a higher risk of falling when experiencing muscle fatigue during execution of extraneous tasks. A total of 30 participants (15 DPN patients and 15 healthy subjects) were recruited for this study and EMG data was collected from lower extremity muscles during walking. The sEMG data were analyzed for the detection of transition-to-fatigue phase during gait. The onset of muscle fatigue was detected via spectral feature analysis, i.e., mean and median frequency analysis. Independent t-tests were conducted to assess group differences (p<0.05). Our results indicated that DPN patients demonstrated the onset of muscle fatigue quicker as compared to age and gender matched healthy individuals (p<0.05).
