The time constant parameters of PID controller are obtained by well-known, traditional Ziegler-Nichols methods. Then, the orders of integral and derivative actions are obtained based on minimization for different objective functions separately. This objective function can be switched during control process by changing orders of fractional PID controller. It leads to variable fractional order PID controller which can be implemented differently, according to above definitions. The paper presents also numerical results of applying proposed method to the control system. Then, obtained results for different type of variable order differences are compared and analysed.","PeriodicalId":373601,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 14th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127235102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The quality of the fresh water determines clearly technological processes of water treatment. The main goal of these processes to be obtained is the final product - water with the highest health values. Taking into account the various environmental pollutions, there are often analyzed solutions with the natural treatment processes. One of them is by using the artificial infiltration process based on pumping surface water (from a river or a lake) to the ground and next obtaining this ground water after primary filtration in the ground. Identification of hydro-geological processes in the ground is very difficult problem for control purposes. From the methodological point of view, control of infiltration water intakes creates tasks of control in the state of uncertainty. In the paper there is described the method of a complex infiltration intake's control using reduced hydrogeological models in chosen operational conditions. There is indicated a multilayer structure of a control system depending on different level of information about controlled objects and processes. The developed control algorithms are compared with the operation results collected for a real water intake.","PeriodicalId":373601,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 14th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117033424","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Kulesza","doi":"10.1109/CARPATHIANCC.2013.6560536","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/CARPATHIANCC.2013.6560536","url":null,"abstract":"Rotordynamic systems have had many applications for decades. Well known examples include gas turbines and compressors used intensively in many important industry fields. Driven by rotating shafts transmitting large amounts of kinetic energy and utilized with continuous heavy loads, these machines very often suffer from sudden unpredicted failures. Such failure usually results in abrupt release of the transmitted energy, machine damage and a catastrophic accident. Propagating fatigue cracks are dangerous malfunctions, which had been recognized as the most frequent causes of similar accidents in the past. The fatigue shaft crack initiates from a small surface imperfection or a micro-crack due to a combination of corrosive, thermal, loading and other processes. Advancing slowly yet continuously the crack may achieve the critical depth at which an immediate shaft fracture occurs. Therefore the fatigue shaft crack, and especially the methods for its early detection and warning have a great deal of attention. It is widely known that a developing shaft crack manifests itself in the appearance of nonlinear effects resulting in higher harmonics in a vibration spectrum. However, such symptoms are characteristic not only for developing shaft cracks but also for other malfunctions such as a shaft bow, a coupling misalignment, etc. That is why novel shaft crack detection methods introduce a specially designed diagnostic force applied to the shaft in order to amplify the particular symptoms of the crack. Most often a simple harmonic force is used for such purposes, yet the results may not be very reliable. The present paper analyzes the possible application of the multisine excitation technique for an early shaft crack detection problem. This technique has been previously used for many problems where the influence of nonlinear distortions on the linear system behavior is to be evaluated and measured. By using well chosen periodic excitations, called random multisines, it is possible not only to detect but also to quantify these distortions. In the present paper the multisine technique is adopted for the rotating cracked shaft. The approach is illustrated with the numerical results of the flexible rotating shaft modeled with the rigid finite element method. In order to asses the effectiveness of the proposed method the numerical results obtained for the uncracked and cracked rotors are compared. The robustness of the method to additional disturbances is checked by introducing some noise to the system. The results demonstrate a potential of the presented method. Possible problems of its practical implementation are briefly discussed.","PeriodicalId":373601,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 14th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128479938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many state-of-the-art frequent pattern mining applications are an inefficient solutions for both shared memory and multiprocessor systems due to problems with parallelism and memory. One of possible solutions to the problem is the use of Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) in the system along with modification of classical pattern mining algorithms in such a way, that the sequential part of algorithm is run on host and the parallel part on GPU. Such solution allows for considerable speed-up (of up to two orders of magnitude), but for more complicated problems and FPM algorithms it can be hard to achieve. So far there were presented 3 modifications of the most basic Apriori algorithm for solving GPGPU (general-purpose computation on graphics hardware) problems. Each of proposed parallel implementations (PBI, TBI, GPA) is suited only for frequent itemset mining, furthermore even the best of them (TBI) obtains results only 2-5 times faster then CPU-based versions of FP-growth algorithm. On ICCC'12 there was presented parallel version of more complex GSP algorithm adjusted for GPGPU problems, capable of obtaining results 50-100 times faster then CPU-based version, with the same accuracy. Not only is the GPGPU implementation the fastest, but also it is suited for solving more complex frequent pattern mining problems. This paper presents extension of proposed modifications to more complex algorithms from Apriori family. The modifications are evaluated both theoretically and with use of experimental setup consisting of nVidia Tesla card and CUDA parallel computing platform. Solution proposed in the paper uses more complex, faster frequent pattern mining algorithms then GSP, making it well suited for solving real-time GPGPU problems for very large data sets.","PeriodicalId":373601,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 14th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"1461 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127444605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The active members enable a generation of the forces having an effect on selected nods in the truss. Such truss is called smart truss in literature. Expected effect of the active members application is a counteraction of the external influences on the truss, for example by wind. A project of the control algorithm of such smart truss is a difficult task, because it is MIMO control object. The control algorithms, which are based on the state space model, is a promising direction in the scientific research, because designed control lows take into account the displacements and speeds of all nods of the truss. This paper presents the results of simulation research of control system with the use of LQG algorithm for exemplary truss.
