The objective of the study is to analyze the importance of innovation and managing innovation in organizations. The methodology adopted is a conceptual analysis of the various aspects of the innovation imperative and managing innovation in organizations. The innovation imperative may focus on incremental innovation, new-to-the-world innovation, and new product launches and failures. Companies adopt approaches towards managing innovation viz. departments in charge of current offerings, new product departments, innovation centres, venture teams, communities of practice, and cross-functional teams. Innovative companies adopt initiatives for managing innovation. Academicians may suggest better and effective models for managing innovation in organizations. Practicing managers may realize the importance of innovation in company growth, evaluate the approaches and initiatives adopted by companies towards managing innovation, and suggest effective approaches and initiatives.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. The majority of international travel occurs between the developed world, which means that the positive economic impacts of tourism are shared amongst the developed countries. Tourism has become the number one foreign exchange earner for many countries in Africa, diversifying the economy from either agriculture or mining. Tourism is developed with the intention that it will improve the quality-of-life and standard of living of the local community. The tourism industry has shown sustained growth, and it is regarded as a panacea for the plethora of challenges facing many countries. The structural challenges that face the economy in South Africa require an economic sector that can create immediate employment and catalyse the economy.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. Thriving in this new digital era requires all kinds of healthcare organizations to shift their cultural and organizational mindsets to be more adaptive. The new adaptability means letting go of outdated business cultures and processes, especially those that not inclusive and respectful of women and their professional contributions. This case study reflects an IT healthcare organization in which several senior managers inappropriately harassed female workers at work and online through their social media accounts. The study explored the complex dynamics of management consulting organizational development intervention using an applied research approach. The results concluded a significant need for organizational change in technical healthcare organizations as healthcare goes through a significant digital transformation as a result of a growing digital economy.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. Despite its importance, discovery of digital innovations is still ill understood. In this paper, the authors seek to provide a theory-based practice for digital innovation discovery. To meet this objective, they source the theories of knowledge and knowledge combination. Data for this case study were collected through semi-structured interviews and a quantitative questionnaire from three pension insurance companies. The data were analyzed by using principal component analysis and by constructing biplots based of the results. Two significant dimensions in the digitalization needs that guide knowledge synthesis were recognized: the importance of adopting the enabler and the volume of resources needed to adopt the enabler. A closer look at the enablers revealed that the most business-critical current digital business enablers for the pension insurance industry are business process automation, online services, and big data.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. The data was collected via an open questionnaire during March-August 2019 and analyzed using a combined thematic and narrative analysis. Three distinct themes arose from the research narratives: cooperation, development, and cost. First, the importance of cooperation in the early stages of the service design process, when new technological innovation ideas are developed, was emphasized. Second, the possibilities of digitalization and need for new innovations were taken into account in the development theme. Third, costs define the utilization of an innovation and guide its initial development. If savings and costs are in balance, technological innovations will move forward. Moreover, the findings show that technological innovations in hospital districts progress in a certain pattern, and the utilization of innovations come from the need and pressure to evolve.
