In this study we focus on overall system robustness and examine search performance in unstable environments where individual agents may fail or a system-wide attack may occur. Experimental results show that searches continue to be efficient when a large number of service agents become unavailable. Surprisingly, overall system performance in terms of a search path length metric improves with an increasing number of unavailable agents. Service unavailability also has an impact on the load balance of service agents. We plan to conduct further research to verify observed patterns and to understand related implications on system architecture design.","PeriodicalId":372587,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Management Engineering, Software Engineering and Service Sciences","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128533567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aiming to help designers to acquire the needed knowledge quickly, this paper develops an ontology-based Knowledge System for Helicopter Transmission Design (KSHTD). To build this system, firstly, based on the Web Ontology Language (OWL), the ontology model of helicopter transmission design is established. Secondly, the rational database is designed according to the terminologies of OWL, which is called ontology database. Thirdly, the ontology model of helicopter transmission design is parsed and imported into the ontology database. Fourthly, the hierarchical structure of KSHTD is proposed based on web Browser/Server (B/S) and function modules, such as knowledge management, knowledge retrieval, model management and user management are implemented. Finally, an illustrative case of the KSHTD is given.","PeriodicalId":372587,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Management Engineering, Software Engineering and Service Sciences","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127717255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The increased complexity had led to high numbers of software project failures in terms of time, cost quality etc. Software project complexity is one of the main reasons for these failures. Various approaches to measure software complexity have been proposed focusing on the software product complexity but without considering the complexity of the process. In this paper it is presented the results of an extended literature review and of a statistical analysis followed for identifying the main factors that affect software project complexity taking into account both technical and project management aspects of the software development process.","PeriodicalId":372587,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Management Engineering, Software Engineering and Service Sciences","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131462944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, energy-aware load balancing is increasingly becoming a core and challenging issue in cloud computing. In this paper, we propose an energy efficient load balancing algorithm which takes advantage of both dynamic voltage/frequency scaling and virtual machine consolidation to reduce energy consumed by cloud infrastructures. Our experimental results indicate that, compared to a round robin algorithm for load balancing in cloud computing, the proposed algorithm can achieve up to 35.3% energy saving in heterogeneous cloud data center.","PeriodicalId":372587,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Management Engineering, Software Engineering and Service Sciences","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128194568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides, a mobile device needs approval from several involved parts, such as national and international telecommunications regulator agencies and telephone mobile network operators in the countries where they will be marketed. Usually, the initial phase of software testing on mobile devices is done using highly specialized equipment for simulation of cellular networks focused on the communication protocols exchanged between mobile networks and the devices. In order to perform this validation, many mobile device manufacturers have a dedicated team for this purpose. ATLAS is one of these teams and plays this role for a large multinational mobile device manufacturer, being responsible for supporting the software development team through the execution of test cases required by the mobile network operators. In this experience report, we describe and rank which problems were faced by the a team during its early stage and how the team was able to achieve satisfactory levels of quality and minimize test inconsistencies and error through the implementation of organizational actions and effective management. At last, we present the lessons learned that might be used by similar teams to cope with the most frequent bottlenecks.","PeriodicalId":372587,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Management Engineering, Software Engineering and Service Sciences","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122141802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To further improve the logistics efficiency of Dalian port is of great significance to the hinterland city and the country's economy and politics. This paper sorted out the panel data of Dalian port from 2008 to 2017, constructed the DEA model input and output index system with PCA, and studied the logistics efficiency of Dalian port with the three-stage DEA model that eliminated environmental factors and random errors. Meanwhile, Tobit regression model is established to analyze the actual influence of various factors on port logistics efficiency. The research shows that the logistics efficiency of Dalian port in recent years is good and has good development potential. But the data show that the low efficiency of scale leads to the low comprehensive efficiency of port to a large extent. Therefore, Dalian port should reasonably expand the port scale according to the actual situation of investment, and avoid the low efficiency of pure technology caused by the low efficiency of internal management and unreasonable adjustment of industrial structure, so as to realize the optimal utilization of port resources.","PeriodicalId":372587,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Management Engineering, Software Engineering and Service Sciences","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115226328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
