Nonetheless, in order to fulfill the rising population's nutritional needs as well as those of the developing industry, agricultural production must be enhanced. Smart fertilizers like Nano fertilizers are the new technologies to enhance the nutrient use efficiency them by improving crop yield in sustainable manner. Nano-fertilizers are the Nano-particles-based fertilizers, where supply of the nutrients is made precisely for maximum plant growth, have higher use efficiency, exploiting plant unavailable nutrients in the rhizosphere and can be delivered on real time basis into the rhizosphere or by foliar spray. Pulses are gaining more important position in Indian agriculture. But the average productivity of pulses is pulses in India (764 kg ha-1) is far below the average productivity of the world (848 kg ha-1). Basally applied nutrients are lost over time, thus applying important fertilizer to cowpeas during their critical growth is a effective strategy to enhance their yield. Especially smart fertilizers like Nano Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and Zinc - Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic Acid (Zn EDTA) are very helpful in that. Therefore, the field experiment was done in the School of Agriculture and Animal Science, Gandhi gram Rural Institute, Gandhi gram, Tamil Nadu during January 2024 to April 2024 to assess the impact of Nano DAP and Zn EDTA on growth and yield of cowpea. There were seven treatments with three replications that were laid out in RBD. Among the different treatments, RDF 50% P, 100% NK + Seed treatment and two foliar spray 0.2% of Nano DAP + Foliar spray of 3% Zn EDTA (T7) was achieved a supremely improved growth parameters and yield attributes and yield. Experimental results clearly revealed that RDF 50% P, 100% NK + Seed treatment and two foliar spray 0.2% of Nano DAP + Foliar spray of 3% Zn EDTA(T7) has recorded the highest grain yield of 1720 kg ha-1 and BCR of 3.25.

Both laboratory studies and field trials evaluating cyanobacteria's effects on soil properties and plant growth are discussed. \u0000Findings: Cyanobacteria can enhance soil structure, provide fixed nitrogen, mitigate salinity stress, increase crop yields, and sequester carbon. Their stress adaptations, antimicrobial metabolites, and synergies with plants and microbes underpin many benefits. However, translating laboratory research into effective field inoculants remains challenging. \u0000Research Limitation: Variability in effectiveness across cyanobacterial strains, plant species, and environments limits current understanding. More field testing is needed along with assessment of potentially negative impacts. \u0000Originality/Value: This review highlights promising areas for cyanobacteria to promote agricultural sustainability while identifying knowledge gaps in genetics, plant-microbe interactions, and soil ecology that require further study. It emphasizes the need for locally-adapted, integrated solutions leveraging cyanobacteria's multifunctional traits.

With population growth, farmers have to increase paddy production to meet existing as well as future demand. Fertilizer is the major input in rice production. Growth and yield traits of rice are affected by improper and imbalanced application of plant nutrients. Hence, suitable practices of adequate rate and timing of fertilizer application are needed to increase the rice yield. In May 2021, Imports & Exports (Control) Regulation No 07 of 2021 was issued, banning the importation of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, & herbicides in Sri Lanka. Low fertility of paddy soil created the need for adequate and constant supply of chemical fertilizers in paddy cultivation, which is a major threat to production and endangers the national food security and economy of Sri Lanka, especially in the major cropping season of Maha 2021/22. Therefore, a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the impact of the fertilizer crisis in major paddy-cultivating Divisional Secretariat divisions of the Trincomalee district. The random sampling method was used to select respondents for the survey, and the collected data were statistically analyzed by SPSS version 26.0 software. The results revealed that the majority of the farmers experienced a 50% yield reduction compared to the last cropping season of Maha 2020/21 in the entire five DS divisions. The seedling stage was highly affected during the fertilizer crisis in paddy cultivation in all five DS divisions. Further, the cost of production in paddy cultivation increased by more than 50% during the fertilizer crisis compared to the cost involved in Maha 2020/21. The potential for organic manure production is very poor, while the majority of farmers are interested in adopting the sustainable farming system of the Integrated Plant Nutrient System through the judicious application of chemical and organic fertilizers received on a subsidy basis, according to the present government’s fertilizer policy, which emphasizes 70% of inorganic fertilizers and 30% of organic manure application to improve sustainability in paddy cultivation in the country.

Due to overuse of chemicals, soil profile has major changes in Gujarat. South Gujarat having major agricultural practices in vegetables, fruits and Sugarcane. The phtotrophic microorganisms isolated from wetland of Nanikakrad situated near to Navasari. The impact of algal biofertilizers on the growth of Solanum melongena, Solanum lycopersicum, and Capsicum annum was researched through a pot study. Plant height, width, and the number of leaves at different time intervals were measured, and soil nutrient levels were analysed by measuring Carbon, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Sulphur content. A total of 30 pots (10 for each plant species) were used, and eight different isolates were applied across treatment. Two pots of plants were maintained as controls; one including chemical fertilizers. Plant growth was significantly promoted by isolates I1 and I2 in Solanum melongena, while in Solanum lycopersicum and Capsicum annum, all treatments improved growth compared with controls. Chlorophyll content was significantly increased in chemical fertilized Solanum melongena, whereas in Solanum lycopersicum and Capsicum annum, I1 significantly increased Chlorophyll content. These findings underline the potential of algal biofertilizers as a smarter, safer alternative to chemical fertilizers that promise to drive sustainable growth in agriculture.
