A high order recurrent neural network is used in order to identify the unknown system and a learning law is obtained using the Lyapunov methodology. Then a control law, which stabilizes the tracking error dynamics, is developed using the inverse optimal control approach, recently introduced to nonlinear systems theory. Tracking error boundedness is established as a function of a design parameter. The applicability of the approach is illustrated via simulations, by synchronization of nonlinear oscillators.","PeriodicalId":371853,"journal":{"name":"42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. We prove that any local maximizer of a convex fuzzy set is also a global maximizer, and that any strictly local maximizer of a quasiconvex fuzzy set is also a global maximizer. We also study the class of strictly convex (resp. strictly quasiconvex) fuzzy sets that is more restrictive than the class of convex (resp. quasiconvex) fuzzy sets. We prove that for both families of strictly convex and strictly quasiconvex fuzzy sets, every local maximizer is also the unique global maximizer. Finally, some composition rules for convex fuzzy sets are given and some applications to fuzzy decision making are discussed.","PeriodicalId":371853,"journal":{"name":"42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. The frequency criterion is defined as the weighted sum of squared errors between the desired and measured gain margin, phase margin and crossover frequency. A relay feedback test is used to automatically obtain a non-parametric model of the open-loop system in a very important region for control design. The gain and phase margins as well as the crossover frequency are estimated with the non-parametric model using interpolations. The gradient and Hessian of the frequency criterion can be expressed in terms of the derivatives of the open-loop system with respect to the frequency. These derivatives can also be estimated with a good accuracy thanks to the non-parametric model. Since no assumptions are made on the plant, the method is valid for a very wide class of linear systems. Simulation examples illustrate the effectiveness and simplicity of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":371853,"journal":{"name":"42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. We assume that information about new targets or agent failures is received by individual team members, and communicated asynchronously with delays to the rest of the team. These delays create potential differences in information across the team of agents. We describe an asynchronous approach to coordinating the team response, where individual agents compute modifications to assignments based on local information. We show that the asynchronous algorithms converge to the same optimal assignments in the presence of arbitrary finite communication delays as a centralized information approach. We extend the asynchronous protocol to the solution of a class of stochastic dynamic resource assignment problems, and show asynchronous convergence of the resulting algorithms. Simulations illustrate the delays in computing an optimal assignment of tasks in response to dynamic events.","PeriodicalId":371853,"journal":{"name":"42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat.
