But one of the main drawbacks of the EMD is the appearance of mode-mixing when high frequency components in a signal contain intermittence in time domain. The paper discusses two new mode-mixing resistant methods: frequency heterodyne EMD method and masking signal EMD method. The principle and the operating steps of these methods are studied in detail, as well as their comparison. The simulation and application in a backlash nonlinearity system shows that both of them can successfully solve the mode-mixing problem in normal EMD method.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121718709","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike common information retrieval, patent retrieval is a recall-oriented retrieval, and patent query inputs are usually long. However, current patent retrieval approaches cannot effectively capture user query intents and obtain good expansion terms, which lead to low retrieval effectiveness. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel semantic query expansion-based patent retrieval approach according to patent-specific characteristics. Firstly, patent domain features are extracted by using a domain-dependent term frequency scheme. Based on domain features, query inputs are analyzed to determine query domains. Furthermore, query domain matching is employed to generate candidate expansion terms, and semantic-based similarity computation is adopted to select expansion terms. Experiment results show that our approach achieves better retrieval performance than other state-of-art approaches.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131596608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And one of the most important issues is regular expression-based reachability query, i.e., to test if one vertex u has a path to another vertex v and the path labels are constrained by a regular expression. Exiting indices for processing classic reachability queries are not fit for processing this kind of operation. In this paper, we study the problem of constructing a new index framework to preserve the path label information for edge-labeled graphs in acceptable size. Our index is based on the concept of minimum vertex cover approximation. We also give the algorithm for regular expression-based queries. The experimental results on real and synthetic datasets show that our algorithm is more efficient than the state-of-the-art methods in time and space.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131884605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All kinds of time series-based methods are commonly utilized to predict future stock returns based on the statistical properties in the series. As more and more people gather in Web-based forums, sentiment and opinion in forums are likely turned into new indices for the movement of stock returns. We propose a novel method to forecast stock returns by mining opinion and sentiment from Web forum messages. Opinion about the drop and rise of stock prices is firstly extracted from the messages posted by forum users. Then unhealthy sentiment is recognized by means of pattern matching. A Bayesian model that incorporates opinion and unhealthy sentiment is established to infer the relation between stock returns and the combination of opinion and sentiment. Compared experiments on China A-share stock market and Guba Web forum are done, and the results show that the proposed method is effective.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115457465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we design an energy-efficient routing scheme for multiple many-to-many multicast requests with known traffic demands in green multi-granularity transport networks. We present a probabilistic model which describes the probabilistic value of every edge comprising the solution of a many-to-many multicast request. We propose a heuristic algorithm based on the probabilistic model to construct multiple many-to-many multicast trees. Results from simulation experiments demonstrate that our proposed scheme consumes less energy as compared with other certain schemes.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114598731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, we put forward an evaluation index system for the FR of CCBs, and we use its single-index assessment criteria to generate sufficient samples. Secondly, we discuss and examine the PPC model with a new optimization objective function. The new function could overcome the drawbacks of the traditional PPC model. Thirdly, we solve the model and obtain the real global optimum applying an improved particle swarm optimization algorithm. Finally, our case study shows that the established PPC model and its five sub-models are applicable to evaluate the financial risk of CCBs. According to our study, the financial risk situations of CCBs basically lie in the Proper-safety levels during 2008 to 2011. The operation risk is the highest among the five aspects of FR, and the development risk ranks next to it. In terms of the 14 listed CCBs, the financial risk of ICBC remains almost unchanged, and BN has the greatest change: from the Safety level to the Risk level.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117261242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
