After the training and the testing, the result shows that AOSVR is a good tool for modeling with small sample data, compared with the method of SVR and artificial neural network (ANN). The model can estimate the NOx emission accurately under different conditions when the load or other parameters changes. The accuracy of this model can also meets the demand of the combustion optimization. The result shows that this new model has a good learning efficiency and prediction accuracy because the algorithm can update the parameters of the model by itself as time and other parameters change.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115583856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the literature, supervised learning based methods heavily rely on training samples. In order to realize unsupervised learning of fault diagnosis for down-hole conditions, a method based on an improved fuzzy Iterative Self-Organizing Data Analysis Technique (ISODATA) with “merging” and “splitting” mechanisms is proposed in this paper. The Hsim similarity function is used to replace the Euclidean distance to improve the classification accuracy in high-dimensional space. In “merging” and “splitting” mechanisms, the “minimum distance between two classes” is a very important parameter to affect clustering accuracy and is difficult to be accurately set in advance. It is considered as a variable parameter and is dynamically adjusted in the clustering process. Simulated annealing algorithm is used to realize optimization and Xie-Beni (XB) validity index is used as the optimization target. An example is given to illustrate that the proposed method can realize dynamic clustering with a better effectiveness.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116913127","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, there is growing interests in the application of force feedback to improve the perception of the operators in virtual training systems. Based on the analysis on the load of the force feedback system, a gain-scheduling fuzzy proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is proposed to deal with the issues about position-force control in the training system with guiding force. The experiment results showed that, users can perform the training through moving along the pre-designed trajectories under the guidance of haptic feedback, while the jitter of the force feedback device was effectively suppressed during the training process. Thus, it is suggested that this proposed fuzzy-PID controller can be widely used in the force feedback training systems, such as rehabilitation robots and skill training systems in which the users have to maintain a proper moving path.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126080811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People tend to search their interested shots from a plenty of videos and many algorithms are used in this field. The algorithm based on histograms is one basic technology of existing methods, however, traditional histograms have the limit on similarity measurement and usually ignore the statistical information of feature. This paper presents an efficient algorithm based on histograms. A novel similarity measurement between histograms is also introduced. The experimental results show that our algorithm performs well and can play an important role in content-based video shot retrieval.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125482756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Human users usually enter search queries and the search engines will then locate the desire information of interest by disambiguate the search query accordingly. The queries will then be passed on to multiple search engines for further processing. These search engines will then return the search results to the main search engine. However, data returned from these search engines are usually varied and presented in numerous formats and layouts. To extract them, we need automated extractor to filter out irrelevant information and locate the correct information. Current trends focused on using ontologies to automatically extract this information with high accuracy. To the best of our knowledge, no works have been made on using multiple ontologies (using many ontology techniques) to automatically extract information from deep webs. In this paper, we demonstrate that multiple ontologies technique can achieve higher accuracy when extracting data from the deep web.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115537491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given a set of species, the method first codes the DNA sequences of each species into a characteristic vector, and then computes a distance matrix for the set of species based on these characteristic vectors. The distance matrix obtained can be used to construct phylogenetic trees for phylogenetic analysis. Such a method bypasses the complexity of performing multiple sequence alignments and avoids the ambiguity of choosing individual genes for species tree construction.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122456633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But so far these validity indices generally depend on common trail-and-error methods and are inefficient when processing large or real-time needed datasets. In this paper we propose a Gerschgorin disk estimation-based criterion to estimate the optimal number of clusters when applying c-means algorithm. The clustering results first consist of a correlation matrix, then the eigenvalue decomposition is performed to obtain all eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the matrix, and finally in terms of the classical Gerschgorin disk theorem, the optimal number of clusters is estimated. On the other hand, a validity index plays an important role in electrical tomography of multiple-phase flow where the number of clusters has to be determined in advance. Experimental results on electrical tomography situation demonstrate that the new method outperforms the recently published approaches, while the efficiency is significantly improved.","PeriodicalId":368964,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129618522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
