The FPGA based hardware implementation profits especially from the high parallelism in the architecture and the moderate number precision required to preserve the qualitative effects of the mathematical models. The proposed architecture is designed to generate 4 sub bands coefficients concurrently per clock cycle that can perform a 1-level decomposition of a image in exactly working clock cycles, without any line buffers at the column processor, thus reducing the time for line buffering but with an extra row processor and with 100% hardware utilization.","PeriodicalId":368328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Intelligent Electronic Systems","volume":"4 11","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113946377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This controller is designed to be applied in the control of three-level voltage source inverter (VSI) fed induction motor. This type of inverter has several advantages over the standard VSI, such as a greater number of levels in the output voltage waveforms, lower dv/dt, less harmonic distortion in voltage and current waveforms and lower switching frequencies. In the new controller, torque and stator flux errors are used together with the stator flux angular frequency to generate a reference voltage vector. The new controller is found to reduce the torque ripple.","PeriodicalId":368328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Intelligent Electronic Systems","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114844406","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Optimizing speed and power of the multiplier is a major design issue. However, speed and power are usual constraints conflicting to each other, so that increasing speed results in larger areas. Parallel multipliers like Braun’s multiplier are preferred over serial multipliers as they consume more power. In this paper, we have designed a low power FIR filter, by simplification of addition operation in a bypassing multiplier. The same has been implemented and the power dissipation is calculated. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is also proved by comparing the obtained results with the existing low power FIR filter design.","PeriodicalId":368328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Intelligent Electronic Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126560448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ergodic capacity attains prime importance as it provides a limit on the achievable rate in multipath fading channel environments for AFWRN systems. However to analyze ergodic capacity Channel State Information (CSI) is essential and it is practically not available in many scenarios. Hence, CSI needs to be estimated by estimation algorithms such as least squares (LS), minimum mean square error (MMSE) and best linear unbiased estimation (BLUE) algorithms. Here, BLUE algorithm by virtue of its advantages of non-dependence on the complete knowledge of probability density function (PDF), requiring only first and second moments of PDF, and possessing minimal variance characteristics, it is proposed to estimate the CSI of AFWRN system. Using BLUE in AFWRN system ergodic capacity is analysed. The simulation results obtained and presented in this paper provides the tradeoff between perfect CSI and ICSI. Simulation results can be used as a bench mark for analysis of coherent detection in AFWRN systems.","PeriodicalId":368328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Intelligent Electronic Systems","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132288052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The video compression efficiency achieved in H.264 standard is not a result of any single feature but rather a combination of a number of encoding tools. CAVLC requires considerably more processing power to decode. The encoding process is simulated by MATLAB which compress the input video sequence and ensures better performance in video compression. The results that are obtained reveal better performance of both entropy coding methods.","PeriodicalId":368328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Intelligent Electronic Systems","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115749356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current practice involves interpretation by inspectors and experts, which is time consuming. With greater emphasis on automation during manufacturing process, automated NonDestructive Testing (NDT) Techniques have gained prominence. The key to success of automated NDT lies in the automatic defect recognition and characterization. Dimensional Characterization of defects or discontinuities is essential in order to compare this with the acceptable codes and standards. Greater emphasis is on selecting appropriate mathematical tools so that feature extraction is possible in accurate and reliable manner. Conventionally image-processing algorithms are applied to extract and quantify the features depicting defects. However many image processing algorithms are available for specific applications with its advantages and disadvantages. This paper explores the possibility of image processing algorithms like edge detection and morphological operators for feature extraction and proposes an algorithm for quantitative measurements of defects on thermal images. Lack of Fusion and Tungsten Inclusion are the defects considered. The choice of these particular defects is that these defects are the main causes for rejection and can be detected reliably during thermal imaging.","PeriodicalId":368328,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Intelligent Electronic Systems","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124173792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
