The information gained through these simulations provides greater confidence when new locations must be found for the VHF antennas. More work needs to be done to further refine the 3D model that is used, taking into account fairings, composite materials and windows. Further work on co-site interactions between multiple VHF systems continues. Similar analysis is expanded to higher frequencies, such as UHF and L-band, encompassing all navigation, communication and special mission antennas. Successfully integrating 50 to 70 antennas on a small structure is extremely challenging. EM analysis helps ensure that maximum performance can be obtained across all the systems.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126823639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This optimization toolbox is very generalized and can be easily adapted to use with any numerical solver having a well-described input and output file system. In combination with the use of MATLAB, this makes it a very flexible and powerful analysis and development tool. The tool employs an optimization routine, input file modification routines to generate numerous solver input files, and output extraction routines to extract the pertinent solver output data. Specifically, advanced development has been done using the numerical electromagnetic code (NEC) ante wire/plate with dielectrics (WIPL-D), genetic algorithm optimization toolbox (GAOT) and CONDOR/sup /spl reg// to demonstrate proof-of-concept.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114233236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach is essentially based on two main ingredients: the decomposition of electromagnetic fields, which express the field vector as (E/sub u/, H/sub u/) and (E/sub l/, H/sub l/), and the introduction of equivalent electric (magnetic) currents adopted for convenience. The fields (E/sub u/, H/sub u/) are expressed in terms of the form for a plane wave diffracted by a continuous constant-impedance plane, and the (E/sub u/, H/sub u/) given by the equivalent source, can be cast into an integral of the Hankel function with the special variables. The present method, in principle, can be extended to obtain the corresponding results for the arbitrary incident waves (e.g. the fields of dipole excitation).","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122218553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The presented design is able to mitigate switching noise in a power distribution network (PDN) on an unprecedented range of frequencies, while having a very compact, miniaturized and practical structure. The theory of operation of this design is presented using a new equivalent circuit model for embedded EBG (EEBG) structures. The model based on the transmission line theory and cascaded structures, by employing a simple lumped-element substitute for the patch-via structure, presents a first order, but detailed, quantitative analysis of the filtering properties of the metallo-dielectric EBG structure. Laboratory PCB prototypes were fabricated and tested revealing appreciable suppression of noise testifying to the effectiveness of our design.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128439565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
