These structures act as GO or STOP surfaces for transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) polarizations, respectively, depending on the direction of a plane wave excitation. Multi-band and dual polarized designs are proposed based on the use of FSS structures with different resonant lengths and orientation of dipoles and slots. EMPiCASSO commercial software is used for the full-wave analysis of presented FSS configurations.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121059882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Geometries include metallic structures (wires and surfaces) as well as dielectric bodies (volume and surface equivalence principle). Validation and application examples show the large savings in memory and run-time of the MLFMM as compared to the standard method of moments (MoM). Limitations regarding dielectric bodies are addressed, which are encountered when attempting to model highly lossy dielectric bodies with a high permittivity.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127345444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since these enclosed environments are typically surrounded by reflective boundaries (i.e. metallic walls), the enclosed-space radio channel is very dispersive and presents a significant challenge to radio communications. In this work, empirical dispersion measurements in representative enclosed space environments are made and a simple model which considers only the enclosure volume, surface area, conductivity and frequency of operation, is found to predict dispersion parameters in the enclosed space channel with good results.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123662663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A prediction model was developed for a B777 using commercial grade software intended for predictions within offices and buildings. The performance of the model was evaluated through a comparison with test data measurements taken on the aircraft. It was concluded that the model can accurately predict power propagation throughout the cabin. This model can enhance researchers' understanding of power propagation within aircraft cabins and will aid in future research.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116569303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the model, the incident voltages are calculated in an auxiliary ID transmission line that is connected to the 3D problem space at the feeding location. The proposed model allows to extract the scattering parameters with a single 3D FDTD run with a reduced simulation time as compared with many of the well-known excitation models. The model is applied to simulate a microstrip patch antenna with an artificial magneto-dielectric material filling.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122379237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This balun has recently become popular for short electromagnetic pulse measurement purposes. The sensitivity and bandwidth of five different short wire dipoles are compared. Conventional GSC is designed according to a quiescent weight vector and a blocking matrix. The quiescent weight vector provides the array with specified array response at some direction. The blocking matrix is designed based on priori knowledge of the direction of arrival (DOA) of the desired signal. In this paper, we propose a new GSC-based adaptive array without priori knowledge of the DOA of the desired signal. This paper utilizes eigen subspace decomposition and statistically cyclostationary properties of the signals to design the adaptive array. A method for constructing the most efficient blocking matrix for the GSC is developed. Simulation examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122492069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results obtained with the 3-D full-wave method of moments based code FEKO is compared to the computations in Ramani, V (2004). The motivation for this study stems from the wide usage of high power RF excitations in electronic systems. Electromagnetic coupling and interference [Christopoulos C. et al., 2001] in electronic devices (computers, sensors, control and communication devices, etc.) is of increasing concern due to the presence of both intentional and un-intentional internal/external electromagnetic sources. After the preliminary comparison of results we introduce a finite conductivity into the walls of the cavity to resemble more practical problems for simulations with FEKO.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117012451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
