Although the method provides satisfactory simulation results when compared to measurements, it does not take into account the ohmic losses due to a finite conductivity in the transition walls. In this paper, we propose a simple and easy to implement extension to this method in order to include in the impedance representation the missing ohmic losses of the waveguide junction. Though the method has been developed in the framework of waveguide devices, like filters, it is applicable to any aperture-coupled structure based on metallic surfaces with finite conductivity, e.g. slot antennas.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125056264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This multi-dimensional environment is referred to as the transmission hyperspace (TH), a term intended to convey the notion of a multi-dimensional resource space, expressed as an n-tuple, in which each dimension allows orthogonality amongst users. The challenges faced in the modeling and analysis of large-scale TH-enabled problems is presented in terms of assigning the n-tuple for the purpose of enhancing throughput. The key aspects of the TH for efficient spectrum management are discussed. The TH approach is anticipated to provide several orders of magnitude improvement in RF resource utilization and aggregate information throughput.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124163300","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An accurate knowledge of the electromagnetic field evolution around a moving or rotating body is very important for the design, optimization and realization of new optical devices or microwave devices, such as the RF-MEMS structures. We propose the numerical technique based on the finite-difference time-domain method with an adaptive implementation of grid generation. This simulation method is applied to the analysis of a two-dimensional MEMS variable capacitor with accelerated motions. The acceleration of the MEMS capacitor is derived under the equilibrium between the spring force and electrical force. Using this acceleration, the numerical results that express the relationship between the acceleration of the plates and the spring constant and the mass of the plates are shown.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131407693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the specific data pattern, we propose to construct two-level (TL) preconditioners to treat the conducting and dielectric parts more efficiently. The main purpose of this study is to show that the TL preconditioning is effective with the MLFMA and can reduce the number of Krylov iterations substantially by using subdivided domain of the near part matrix for each level. Our experimental results indicate that the TL preconditioning maintains the computational complexity of the MLFMA, but converges much faster, thus effectively reduces the overall simulation time for the coated material objects.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131423532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Kolundzija et al., 2000] was parallelized for matrix fill/solution, to supplement the frequency parallelization developed in the Alpha Test (AT) phase [S. Tabet et al. April 2004]. The new WIPL-DP code was required to run on three distinct HPC platforms. The BT phase was the final testing phase of WIPL-DP5 since the IOT&E was eliminated from the requirements. WIPL-DP was successfully parallelized for frequency and matrix fill/solution. The revised code received threshold level (or better) performance rating for all critical technical parameters (CTPs) tested. The chosen test case for the BT phase was a further modification to the version used in the AT phase of the \"human head adjacent to a cellular phone\" (DEMO-531) problem. This WIPL-DP effort was funded under the common high performance computing software support initiative (CHSSI) as described in S. Tabet et al. (2004). The goal of this initiative was to provide efficient, scalable, portable software codes, algorithms, tools, models and simulations that can run on a variety of DOD high performance computing platforms that can be used by scientists and engineers to solve computing problems.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125504810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
