Full discretization methods are too time-consuming for these finite periodic circuits, but the method of lines (MoL) enables an efficient full-wave analysis. The CPU time is completely independent of the number of periods because of the analytical solution in longitudinal direction and the use of Floquet modes as eigensolutions. Distributed MEMS transmission lines (DTMLs) with up to 45 bridges are investigated.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132836156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A good approximation of the surface current in the z-coil is obtained from a set of rings and patches on the cylinder. In this paper, an integral equation is derived for the current distribution. To solve this integral equation, the Galerkin method is applied, using global expansion functions. We show that Legendre polynomials are an appropriate choice for the expansion functions. They provide fast convergence. So, only a restricted number of Legendre polynomials is needed. Moreover, an analytical solution is derived, which results in efficient simulations.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134277710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Monopolarized and multipolarized antennas are examined on a geometrical distribution of scatterers simplified for the diffusing waves. Thee geometrical models employed are defined in COST259. The proposed model takes into account the transmit antenna and receive antenna patterns, Doppler spectrum, dyadic coefficients and the polarization of antennas for the narrowband case in macrocells. Each scattering process is represented by a dyadic matrix corresponding to the depolarization and the distortion of the electromagnetic wave. Through simulations, the ergodic capacities and the outage capacities of monopolarization and multipolarization of 2 /spl times/ 2 MIMO channels are presented on the richness of scattering. The results of simulations show that the largest spread angle at the receiver is proved for the best capacity.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125545656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work seeks to determine the effect on performance of the antenna due to varying geometries. Standard antenna range far-field and near-field measurements are not sensitive enough to extract the propagation constant. A numerical simulation was thus developed using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method to extract the propagation constant. The simulation was validated with published analytical data as well as measured data.","PeriodicalId":368249,"journal":{"name":"IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005.","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124743423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The electromagnetic performance of the loaded transmission line is simulated with a full wave time domain commercial simulator.
