It is obtained by adding a few monomial operators to the operators of the four-valued logic reported by T. Chen et al. (1983). Functional completeness, duality, canonical form, simplification and other theorems are discussed. It is concluded that the functional space of four-valued logic is equivalent to that of two-valued logic. It is also found that variables and operators of modal logic correspond to those of four-valued logic using two lines.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":368020,"journal":{"name":"[1988] Proceedings. The extension is dependent on introducing the concepts of fuzzy contradictory, contradictory degree, fuzzy resolvent, and confidence of resolvent. The concept of fuzzy resolvent is first interpreted, as it is the most important concept and is the basis of fuzzy resolution. Then the fuzzy resolution principle is considered for fuzzy propositional logic and extended to the fuzzy firs-order logic. The completeness of the fuzzy resolution principle is proved. The fuzzy resolution principle has been used as the basis of a powerful fuzzy Prolog system.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":368020,"journal":{"name":"[1988] Proceedings. The polynomial spectrum of a p-valued function can be calculated without requiring complex multiplication. Former known expressions for Chrestenson spectra can be obtained from the polynomial spectra by a simple modulo reduction. The coefficients of the spectral polynomials give exact information on the correlation between p-valued and linear functions. The ternary encoding scheme presented provides for both bit synchronization and simultaneous information transfer on a single pair of wires without increase in hardware complexity or bandwidth requirements. Bandwidth requirements for the polar return-to-zero (RZ) scheme proposed previously for single-pair wire links and the ternary non-RZ (NRZ) scheme used here are analyzed and compared to each other and to requirements for the binary Manchester code. Test results on prototype ring interface units using this ternary transmission mechanism are presented. Several advantages that accrue from the use of ternary NRZ signaling on the links of the ring are discussed.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":368020,"journal":{"name":"[1988] Proceedings.
