The cluster is a representative method of the segmentation technique that divides the pixels into different groups, based on properties of coherence and similarity. We propose a variation of the implementation of the cluster method based on density, OPTICS, which considers creation of clusters and the density of the points and develops a classification with regard to their parameters. In this method, we choose the color attribute as an important element to define a cluster; the color space considered is the HVC. The experiments were carried out with images that consider different situations; in most cases the results are close to what we expected, once a cluster is found the classification process can be done.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"211 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133340506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Significant improvements are possible with MIMO channels, with the use of multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver. Reception in this type of channel is achieved with space-time coding by jointly designing channel coding, modulation and equalization, allowing an important increase in the throughput of bandlimited wireless channels. One of the most important space-time coding systems is the Bell-Labs layered space-time (BLAST) coding technique. Different variants of this algorithm exist, focusing on computational complexity reduction. One of these variants is the vertical BLAST algorithm which has different realizations depending on the way the signal processing at the receiver is performed. In this paper, an analysis of these realizations is presented from a performance-complexity standpoint. These variants are the singular-value decomposition, the sorted-QR decomposition and the least-square algorithm. It is shown that the latter presents the best performance/complexity trade-off.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125838690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The information is processed to obtain images of the type WEFAX (weather facsimile) with a resolution of 8 km and HRPT (high resolution picture transmission) of 1.1 km. The design of the antenna was carried out by means of a mathematical analysis of the theory of antennas (Kraus, J.D., \"Antennas\", McGraw-Hill, 1988); in this way, the antenna dimensions were obtained, and tests and adjustments were made so that the antenna has a better performance. Finally, we present the images obtained in the cases mentioned. The obtained images can be used for meteorological analysis.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128471857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal is to set up a good temperature in the car, which is going to be possible thanks to the heater and air conditioning of the automobile. The benefits of having a \"remote starter\" are the following: starting the car from distance, and being able to set it up to run for 5, 10, or 15 minutes; entering a car that is hot in winter or cold in summer; taking care of the car, because it is always better to let the car warm up before driving. The paper explains the design of a \"remote starter\" for a 1995 Volkswagen Jetta, but the concepts explained are useful for any kind of car.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131320812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

FPGA implementation allows the building of rapid prototypes reducing development times and board area. However, since FPGA has been improved to satisfy speed and size constraints, it is not evident that these devices can satisfy the low power consumption constraint. Compared to ASIC, FPGA are generally perceived as non-low-power consumption devices, whose only advantage is programmability and more recently dynamic reconfigurability. In this work we present a study of dynamic and static power consumption of FPGA that allows the designer to acquire a better understanding of how power consumption is generated and distributed inside the FPGA. Based on these results, a genetic algorithm is used to minimize critical long paths and optimize the internal resources during the place and route process in order to optimize power consumption while keeping a high performance.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132311923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach is mainly based on a negative selection algorithm and is suitable to solve problems where the knowledge of non-self is scarce and noisy.
