The program generates a sequence, in successive runs, of channel impulse responses, over different transmitter-receiver separation distances. The amplitudes, delays and phases are generated; based on a statistical model, the model parameters of the paths arriving at the receiver are introduced by the user, matching the simulation to the desired environment. The transmitter and receiver antenna gains, the operating wavelength and the receiver sensitivity are also user entries. The program is implemented in MATLab/spl trade/ 6.5 and it has a user-friendly interface, operating by means of easy to use menus, where the user introduces the parameters and data. As result, one simulator run obtains an impulse response graphic, amplitudes vs. arrival times, and a file that contains, in a results table, amplitude, arrival time and phase for every simulated path. Successive runs obtain, in other results tables, the radio channel parameters, such as total multipath gain, path loss, RMS delay spread and excess delay.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122326238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed hybrid algorithm is based on computing differences between consecutive frames of video streams for fast detection of objects in motion by processing of their time-varying edges in real time applications. For quantitative prediction of motion and computing of its characteristics, the interpolation technique has been used in combination with the motion stabilization technique useful for analysis of irregular displacement of objects. The principal goal of the proposed algorithm is the design of simple but efficient facilities for motion prediction when the possible routes may be quickly computed even with occlusions and rotation. The introduced algorithm has been tested in order to evaluate its utility and performance.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124687257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Starting from the basic LMS (least mean square) algorithm, the modified algorithm, LMSm, has been conceived in order to achieve, for a determined number of iterations, both properties in parallel: a faster convergence rate; a smaller final quadratic error than the LMS and nLMS algorithms. The underlying idea is its application to digital communication channel identification and later equalization, which requires a high frequency of operation. These properties have been analytically derived and its behaviour has been extensively verified. Both analytical and experimental results obtained by using the LMSm algorithm in standard digital channel models show the following important improvements: a higher velocity of convergence; a smaller mean squared error between the model identified by the system and the real channel parameters.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123798217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Intelligent agents are derived from agent theory and they are used to model simple rational behaviors in elaborated distributed applications. In particular, they are structured as multiagent systems based on the deliberative belief-desire-intention architecture. At present, multiagent system technology is employed in many applications because it is considered as a new software paradigm able to solve complex problems. On the other hand, robot teleoperation has arisen from the necessity to execute operations where it is difficult to put a human being due to constraints such as cost, safety or time. Considering robot teleoperation on the Internet is a complex problem, we have proposed and developed a multiagent architecture, where information streams, including video data and voice commands, transmitted on the Internet, are processed and managed using intelligent agents to execute successful tasks.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"26 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114011706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each application is accepted based on its effective bandwidth, bandwidth requirement and network resources availability. This approach is applied on stateless networks; thus, resource reservation is not required. The core router does not distribute periodically QoS state information, so the network available resources are estimated by the incoming device by means of a local resource measurement. The main advantage of our proposed framework is the system scalability, because there are no extra-mechanisms to be implemented at the core routers rather than the incoming ones. Additionally, the admission mechanism avoids QoS degradation of previously accepted applications on the network path.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121925664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This problem has diverse applications in information retrieval, computational biology and signal processing, among others. One of the best solutions to this problem is to execute a multipattern search of a set of pieces of the pattern, followed by a local decompression and a direct verification in the decompressed areas. In this work an improvement to this solution concerning verification is presented, where instead of executing a decompression process and searching for the pattern, bit-parallel automata are constructed that recognize the pattern. In this way, we perform the entire searching process without decompressing the text and obtain competitive times, compared to decompressing text and searching it with the best existing algorithms.","PeriodicalId":367791,"journal":{"name":"15th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP'05)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121706988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
