The vehicle easily deviates off from the path and obviously affects the navigation accuracy. Trajectory correction is one possible solution proposed by few researchers to avert the problem. The approaches are proven to increase the efficiency for the vehicle to navigate on the path with tolerable accuracy error. Motivate by the solution, it is the intention for the research to advise a new trajectory correction algorithm known as a Real-Time Adaptive Trajectory Correction (RATC) algorithm. However, in this paper, a primary work for the algorithm definitely the deviation detection and vector measurement technique via an accelerometer is presented. The technique is designed based on trigonometric functions and vector synthesizing principle. A simplify Kalman's filter appropriately for low-cost onboard controller is employed to overcome the accelerometer drift and double integration error. The technique is evaluated in terms of measurement accuracy where an X-Y platform is utilized as the navigation path and control environment. The deviation vector is logged wirelessly in the Graphical User Interface (GUI) window which also programmed to exhibit visual deviation occurred on the quadrocopter. Three sets of experiment results with different wind disturbance acceleration are discussed. The results signified the technique has fine accuracy for short-duration measurement, especially navigation in a small-bounded area.","PeriodicalId":367680,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 5th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125580401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

LTE is introduced by 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to improve the mobile phone standard to cope with future technology evolutions and needs. Recently, femtocell which known as Home NodeB (HNB) is the remarkable technology network that implanted in the LTE network in order to fulfill the upcoming demand of high data rates. However, as the User Equipment (UE) is allowed to move freely with different network it causes changed in handover rate and hence, probability of drop call increased. In addition, different speed of UE also affects the number of handover and drop call rate. This paper analyzed on the load balancing scheme based on performance of handover and dropped call rate with different number of UE and different speed of UE. The scheme requests femtocell which deployed into macrocell based on velocity of UE by considering the number of UE. The handover procedure is determined by using simulation based on the number of UE and UE velocity. The simulation results show a significant improvement in term of handover and drop call rates and enhanced better performance of femtocell in LTE network.","PeriodicalId":367680,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 5th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115144514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Image classification is the major component of the remote sensing to extract some of the important spatially variable parameters, such as land cover and land use (LCLU). The aim of this study is to investigate the capability of Artificial Neural Network system (ANNs) for classifying the satellite images using different algorithm which are back-propagation algorithm and K-means algorithm with different approaches. ANN's classifier is compared with two classification techniques of conventional classifier which are Maximum Likelihood (ML) and unsupervised (ISODATA). Neural network classification is based on the training data set and it the proper classification. ML and ISODATA classifiers are broadly used in many remote sensing applications. Overall classification accuracy and Kappa Coefficient were calculated to get the comparison of the performance the image classification. The optimal performance would be identified by validating the classification results with ground truth data. The accurate classification can produce the correct LU/LC map that can be used fir variety.","PeriodicalId":367680,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 5th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126152383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mobile WiMAX or IEEE 802.16e standard defines five different service classes which can be used to satisfy the VoIP QoS. In this study, different trajectory is applied to the MS with the encoder of G.711 and G.729 in order to identify which encoder gives the best performance to the VoIP application. This paper adds to our understanding how is it realistically possible to use BE service class to support VoIP applications. MOS scale ranging from 5 (excellent) to 1 (bad) is used as the performance metrics employing both encoders. To assure the quality of user experience, parameters such as, jitter, end-to-end delay, and throughput is observed too. Students' final examination for every semester throughout UiTM's system is currently managed by Examination Affairs (Bahagian Hal Ehwal Peperiksaan) (BHEPep) of UiTM Shah Alam. To date, the number of branch campuses as well as offered programmes has expanded numerously. With such big number of branch campuses and offered programmes, BHEPep requires a practical and efficient method to oversee and manage final examination. One of the suggested alternatives is decentralization of examination management which will be practiced by the whole UiTM system, and the item bank system that can fulfill and control the quality of an item. This study focuses on the development of web-based Integrated Question Bank and Evaluation System or formerly known as i-QuBES. The motivation of the system development is driven by four key elements of quality assurance in the item assessment of final set examination questions paper. Those key elements are validity, reliability, fairness and consistency. Assisted by the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, i-QuBES is hoped will cater and able to manage the administration of final examination, hence retain if not improve the quality standard of final examination set paper. However Service Provider rarely utilized the QoS function to avoid any implication on the network because it requires high maintenance and attention from network administrator. Usually they would propose customers to add more bandwidth due to congestion but it would only resolve the congestion issue temporarily and application performance would still be an issue. This paper presents the performance evaluation on hybrid optimisation which combines both network-based QoS and WAN Optimisation solution to overcome the congested link issue over the WAN. The headquarters and branch office connection were setup over the MPLS VPN on our test lab to simulate the congested link. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by measuring the network and application throughput, round-trip time, efficiency and utilisation. The results presents that the proposed hybrid optimisation was able to reduce bandwidth utilisation at 53% over the congested link. The proposed method was useful to managed network service provider to customize their managed service as well as improving the network efficiency and provide optimum level quality of service to enhance their end user experience.","PeriodicalId":367680,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 5th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131798108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
