Many works have been done on the discussions between encoding efficiency and prediction structures. However, the structure of MVC can greatly affect interaction between user and video server, which is important to evaluate MVC scheme besides PSNR. View dependency (VD) is defined based on graph theory to analyze transmission efficiency of MVC scheme. Three definitions and parameters are used to evaluate the performance on interaction and transmission of MVC structures. Recently, many kernel-based Fisher discriminate methods were proposed, the features extracted by those methods are statistically uncorrelated, usually ineffectively when used in so called \"small sample problem \"(SSS), which exists in most FR tasks. To overcome this shortcoming, in this paper we present Kernel-based Global Folley-Sammon Discriminate Analysis (KGFS), it can be realized in three steps: firstly by combing kernel function, map data onto an implicit high-dimensional feature space, secondly construct orthogonal feature space there, finally calculate iterative global orthogonal discriminate vectors. Experiments have been done on ORL dataset. It combines the new contourlet transform with the second-generation bandeletzation procedure. Thereinto, the contourlet transform captures image discontinuous points and links them into linear structures, then the bandeletization procedure pursuits the linear structures adoptively and further removes their correlation. The CBlet transform obtains much sparser representation than the new contourlet transform at the same redundancy. This algorithm is based on the opening operation of mathematical morphology and presents a concept of morphological size in theory. By operating the morphological size of the discrepancy function between two gray-scale images, their matching degree can be measured well. By analyzing the sufficient condition to the result of that gray-scale image opened by 3-D sphere is non-empty in 3-D digital space, we adopted a technique of threshold decomposition to transform morphological operations from gray-scale to binary, which resolved the problems of difficult construction to 3-D structuring element and complex operations. A fast method of interval approximation was proposed to calculate the gray-scale morphological size quickly. Binary morphological operations use flat structuring elements and it is essentially boolean operations. When these algorithms work on the high-discrete point set, they produce the multi-short-line segments because of the noise and large gaps between points, which seldom characterize the whole line segment completely. We proposed an improved HoughLines algorithm to solve this problem: First, we propose a new sorting strategy of the point coordinates that is self-adaptive for each line segment; second, we improve the strategy of finding the non-background points that contributed to peaks of Hough transform matrix through a tolerance threshold. The improved algorithm can detect line segments in point set of varying discrete degrees at a high precision. A multi-sensor and multi-resolution remote sensing image sub-pixel registration scheme is proposed in this paper. In this registration scheme, point feature, three image matching algorithms (ICM, PRM, ISM) and three constraints (APC, CDM, ICC) are used. They guarantee that the precision of point matching reaches sub-pixel and the distribution of feature points are self-adapted to the area terrain. Then TIN is constructed with feature points. Finally the target image is rectified based on TIN with the improved triangle filling algorithm. Experiment results demonstrate that the registration accuracy of SPOT5 panchromatic image (2.5 m/pixel) is 2-3 m and SPOT5 multi-spectral image (10 m/pixel) is 5-6 m. Because of ear's special physiological structure and location, it is reasonable to combine ear with profile face for recognition in such scenarios as frontal face images are not available. In this paper, a novel non-intrusive multimodal recognition technology based on ear and profile face is proposed. First, only the face profile- view images are captured for recognition. Then ear classifier and profile face classifier based on Full- Space linear Discriminant Analysis (FSIDA) are set up. Finally decision fusion of ear and profile face is carried out using the combination methods of Product, Sum and Median rules according to the Bayesian theory and a modified Vote rule for two classifiers is presented. We explore the use of feature space other than the commonly used color space for object tracking. Specifically, we employ gradient information to be used separately as well as in conjunction with color information. Our target appearance model is then represented in the form of a histogram using its gradient and color feature spaces, and frame-to-frame tracking is performed using mean shift or local exhaustive search. By combining gradients with color, we build new appearance models with combined feature spaces. Since different parts of an image may have different smoothness properties, and wavelet coefficients denote different frequency subbands of an image, the subimages at each wavelets scale level may have distinct smoothness properties. The larger the a is, the smoother the images are in B<sup>a</sup> <sub>q</sub>(L<sup>p</sup>). Taking the smoothness index a into account, we try to optimize the alpha<sub>j</sub> at different wavelet scale j with p,q fixed. A distorted image of a mutant barcode was obtained by simulating actual environment. The barcode area in the image was acquired by barcode localizing. After the barcode area being analyzed, these barcode characteristic parameters were abstracted and the distorted image fitting formula was gained by exercise, which set up the correspondence between distorted barcode image point coordinates and the standard one. Thus the 01 code of mutant barcode of the distorted image can be abstracted. The implicit information in the 01 code can be decoded with DataMatrix decode method.
