These applications necessitate the analysis of datasets in order to distinguish motions in either the visual or inertial motion data. The use of camera and motion sensors, particularly, the gyroscope and accelerometer, has expanded recently as a result of the availability of mobile smartphones, smartwatches, etc., and is now being employed in real-world applications. In this paper, we present a new Visual and Inertial dataset ValS Dataset focusing on performing the squats exercises. The same actors and activities were captured using various hardware systems in two capture rounds, including video using mobile cameras and inertial measurement units (IMUs). The data from the IMUs and the videos are synced. Squats are being performed by 24 males and 3 females. To provide the highest data diversity, we recorded some sessions outdoors in the daylight and at night while others to be indoors. In this paper, we offer further details about the nature of the data and how would the dataset can be of many benefits, as well as how the dataset was collected and post-processed, including the synchronization process. Seeking evaluating the quality of the data, we ran certain tests to produce a proper data analysis.","PeriodicalId":367038,"journal":{"name":"2022 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116516014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rapid development in image generation techniques using deep neural networks makes it possible to generate photo-realistic images. However, controlling the content of the generated images, such as a person’s clothing or pose, is still an open problem. The method we propose creates a pose invariant person representation using the attention mechanism and generates posed images by applying pose query on the representation. We evaluated the method using 3D rendered synthetic data and confirmed that the created person representation is pose-invariant, and we can render good quality images with the representation.","PeriodicalId":367038,"journal":{"name":"2022 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128064945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The adoption of deduplication for primary storage has been hampered because of its complexities, such as random-access patterns to data and the need for quicker request response time. Most of the solutions designed for primary storage are offline and dependent on the concept of locality. This paper proposes an inline deduplication system with a Machine Learning based cache eviction policy to reduce the metadata overhead in the deduplication process, eliminate the redundant writes and improve the overall throughput in latency-sensitive storage workload.Caching of the fingerprints plays a vital role in improving performance during deduplication. A novel Machine Learning model for cache eviction is built based on the recency, frequency, Logical Block Address, and category of a data block. The experimental results show that 33% of redundant writes are eliminated, 54.5% of metadata overhead is reduced by exploiting block similarity, and the metadata cache hit rates based on the Machine Learning model are higher by 5.43% and 10.36% over systems with Least Recently Used eviction and Least Frequently Used eviction policy respectively. We achieved 14.4% better throughput with a workload-dependent Machine Learning-based cache eviction policy than a system with traditional cache eviction policy. The cache system learns the past evicted block I/O statistics and refines itself while choosing an eviction candidate. Our system was evaluated on real-world I/O traces in experiments.","PeriodicalId":367038,"journal":{"name":"2022 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131872346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, owing to the bias of the news articles posted on social network services (SNSs) and the reactions to them, user misunderstanding of news has become a social problem. To address this problem, based on the idea that the neutrality of news articles and reactions can be estimated and presented to users, this paper proposes a metric for estimating the neutrality of news called \"popularity value.\" Popularity value is calculated based on the strength of the daily interest in the news topic among users who responded to the news article on Twitter and the distribution of the responding users based on the strength of their daily interest. Through evaluation experiments, we show that the proposed popularity value is effective in predicting the neutrality of news articles posted on SNSs and reactions to them.","PeriodicalId":367038,"journal":{"name":"2022 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117328930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, as a result, today’s human resource managers are inundated with applications for each job opening. This leads to the production of significant number of documents, referred to as resumes or curriculum vitae (CV). Optimal processing of this data is necessary from a Human Resource strategic and economic perspective, where cost and time effectiveness is paramount. We propose an efficient ranking algorithm to overcome the high time and cost complexity associated with the pairwise comparison of candidates in the state-of-the-art Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) based ranking algorithm. This algorithm is integrated with matrix sorting and pruning based solution to enhance its scalability. Our proposed algorithm was tested on three different datasets: real-world recruitment, simulated DBLP, and synthetic datasets. Our algorithm shows promising results, which makes it effective and efficient on real-world resume ranking processes.","PeriodicalId":367038,"journal":{"name":"2022 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123590174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, the use of microscopic fluorescence images in protein localization with computational methods has made protein maps of the human body closer to reality. Among the current methods, deep learning, especially convolutional neural networks, has successfully classified these images. In this study, we first propose a method for preprocessing the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) dataset and reducing data volumes up to 27 times without losing essential details. Then, proposing a novel convolutional neural networks (CNNs) architecture based on the two ideas of reusing summary features and designing block structures, we classify preprocessed images into 13 classes. Multi-labeling, large image sizes, and unbalanced data are a character of the data set’s challenges. Finally, reducing the required computing by about 50 percent less than state of the art and preserving plenty of storage space and needed memory, the image classification with macroF1-Score 0.789 excels among successful models.","PeriodicalId":367038,"journal":{"name":"2022 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122954509","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tuning of controller gains using conventional directly methods does not satisfy the performance criteria and the error is large under varying loads. To overcome this problem, a parameters estimator and a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm are proposed. The PSO method is used to increase the optimal ability, ensure that the tuned gains is the best for the motor operation corresponding to the change of load. A combination the parameters estimator with a lookup table (LUT) is proposed to improve the convergence time as well as tuning time of the PSO method. In this paper, the proposed method is applied to determine optimal gains of proportional- integral-derivative (PID) speed and position controller of BLDC drives. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by experimental results.","PeriodicalId":367038,"journal":{"name":"2022 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121732326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Spontaneously interest in influencer marketing is also increasing. In influencer marketing, reach is important to estimate how many users have seen posts. Hashtags are the one of the most powerful way to increase reach. Specifically micro or nano influencers, whose followers are less than 10,000 followers, are in the spotlight for influencer marketing. Their follower numbers are low, but their reach per posts is high and marketing cost is low. In this study, we reveal the use of hashtags and the relationship between reach rate in nano influencer’s posts. We collected 232 nano influencer (1,000 -10,000 followers) accounts’ meta-data and 113,247 hashtags used in their contents. By using regression analysis, we investigated the relationship between the number of hashtags and reach rate. Then by Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), we investigated the unique hashtags used in the reach rate quarter group. In conclusion, there was no relationship between the number of hashtags and reach rate. However, there were results that accounts using informative hashtags can be more effective to get reach than self-presenting hashtags.","PeriodicalId":367038,"journal":{"name":"2022 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (IMCOM)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121429992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
