From a theoretical point of view, we will focus on the relationship between Antígona González and both Sophocles’ myth and other European and Latin-American reinterpretations of it, trying to set the structural function of myth as a textual device, which tries to undermine its permanent structure. In the process, the tense relationship between the discourses of literary creation and philosophical musing will be broached. The evidence of any mutual awareness of their respective writings in the case of Miguel de Unamuno and Fernando Pessoa is scant. Whilst there is no recognition in the former of the latter, the Portuguese author certainly knew enough of the writings of the prolific Spaniard to have published several texts wherein he rejected the thinking of his near-contemporary. The manuscript was found in Paris and presented by Riva Agüero in 1914. Underlying the 2009 and 2013 editions is the thesis that the anonymous author would have been a Portuguese New Christian who travelled through the Spanish empire during the period of union between the Iberian thrones in parallel with the established legal separation. De hecho, la conciencia de que nuestra realidad se construye a través de unas relaciones en red, le permite crear un espacio narrativo apto para acoger un acopio heteróclito de materiales, logrando trazar un mapa articulado de nuestra contemporaneidad global y digital.
