This special milk is yellow to orange in color and thick and sticky. It is low in fat, and high in carbohydrates, protein, and antibodies to help keep baby healthy. Colostrum is extremely easy to digest, and is therefore the perfect first food for your baby. It is low in volume (measurable in teaspoons rather than ounces), but high in concentrated nutrition for the newborn. Colostrum has a laxative effect on the baby, helping him pass his early stools, which aids in the excretion of excess bilirubin and helps prevent jaundice. Setting and Design: A quantitative evaluative research approach was used in the current study. A pre experimental one group pre-test post-test group design. In the present study the setting was the selected hospitals of Bangalore. The target population was primi gravida mothers. The sample and the sample size in the present study is 100 primi gravida mothers from selected hospitals of Bangalore. Non-probability convenient sampling technique was used in the present study. Results: The result shows that educational status of primi gravida mothers (p<0.029), and occupation of mothers (P<0.046) found significantly associated with pre-test knowledge level of mothers at significance level, whereas the remaining demographic variables found non- significant at similar level of significance. Therefore, the research hypothesis H2 accepted for these two variables the educational status and occupation of primi gravida mothers at 0.05 level of significance, whereas for remaining variables the H2 got rejected.","PeriodicalId":366166,"journal":{"name":"THE GENESIS","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127225276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although nursing is considered to be one of the most 'trusted' professions and a 'caring for others' profession, often there is a disconnect between this and actual experiences of patients and families in the clinical setting. Nurturing professional growth through emotional intelligence will be explored and application of emotional intelligence concepts will be applied to the profession of nursing. The author contends that by fostering characteristics of emotional intelligence, nurses will not only be thought of as 'caring' but will also demonstrate behaviors that 'reconnect' the patient’s perception to reality of the care experience.","PeriodicalId":366166,"journal":{"name":"THE GENESIS","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122106202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are primarily used for therapeutic purposes such as administration of medications, fluids and/or blood products as well as blood sampling. Unsuccessful PIVC first attempts increase pain, and lead to treatment and diagnostic delays. Traditionally, PIVC involves vein and equipment selection before catheterization. Clinicians select peripheral veins based upon vein palpability and visibility, and may use vein stimulation, limb positioning, tourniquets or other techniques to improve first attempt success. There has been an increasing concern among health professional and the general public about HCAI. HCAI is a major cause of morbidity and mortality every year and up to 8.5% of hospitalized patient suffer from HCAI. In a national and multicenter studies reported, it was identified that the prevalence of hospitalized patients who acquired at least one HCAI ranged from 3.5% to 12%. This increasing concern in number of HCAI has prompted the need for further research into the area of asepsis. The importance of asepsis in PIVC therapy has become an integral part of modern patient care because; almost 60% or more patients admitted to hospital require the insertion of an PIVC.","PeriodicalId":366166,"journal":{"name":"THE GENESIS","volume":"120 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123231228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is named after Aubrey Otis Hampton, who first described it in 1940. A juxtapleural pulmonary soft tissue density on a chest radiograph, convex toward the hilum, usually at the costophrenic angle; described as a manifestation of pulmonary infarction, due to pulmonary embolism. In most cases, pulmonary embolism is caused by a blood clot in the leg that breaks loose and travels to the lungs. A blood clot in a vein close to the skin is not likely to cause problems. But having blood clots in deep veins (deep vein thrombosis) can lead to pulmonary embolism. More than 300,000 people each year have deep vein thrombosis or a pulmonary embolism. Other things can block an artery, such as tumors, air bubbles, amniotic fluid, or fat that is released into the blood vessels when a bone is broken. But these are rare and uncommon.","PeriodicalId":366166,"journal":{"name":"THE GENESIS","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129018333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an over growing tissue during the healing process of the belly button. Usually occurs in reaction to a mild infection. Umbilical granuloma commonly come to attention of parents because of persistent drainage or moisture involving the umbilicus after the cord has dried and separate. The study was done to identify the effectiveness of structured teaching prgramme on use of common salt for treating umbilical granuloma among mothers attending OPD at S.V.S. hospital, Mahabubnagar, Telangana. Materials and methods: The research design adopted for the study was one group pre test and post test, which belongs to pre-experimental design. 60 Mothers were selected by using simple random sampling technique of probability sampling technique method. A structured self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection which consisted of two parts. Part A consisting of 11 demographic data of the mothers and Part B consisting of 30 items regarding on use of common salt to treat umbilical granuloma among mothers. Posttest was conducted after 4 weeks. Results: The collected data was analyzed by using both descriptive and inferential statistics such as frequency and percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, paired “t” test and chi square test at 0.001 levels off significance with 59 df. The calculated ‘t’ value was 33.19, which is higher than the table ‘t’ value 3.46 at 59df with 0.001 level of significance. It shows that there is significant difference (p<0.001) in pre test and post test knowledge scores. Hence it is concluded that after structured teaching programme on use of common salt for treating umbilical granuloma the knowledge scores of the mothers have been increased. Conclusion: The study has showed that there was an overall improvement in the knowledge of the mothers after implementation of structured teaching Programme.","PeriodicalId":366166,"journal":{"name":"THE GENESIS","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114517354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
