Hypoxia (oxygen deprivation) is a major factor disturbing the blood hemostasis and predisposing the body towards coagulation and VTE. Pathophysiology of VTE can be attributed to post-transcriptional gene regulation by microRNAs (miRNAs). The present study identified regulatory miRNAs involved in causing blood coagulation under normoxic and hypoxic conditions. Meta-analysis was performed, following PRISMA guidelines, for identifying miRNAs involved in blood coagulation pathway. Studies evaluating miRNAs from circulating blood as potential biomarkers of VTE were selected. A total of 16 studies met selection criteria and 8 having complete statistical information were selected for analysis. Study of blood coagulation mechanism under hypoxic conditions involved in-silico search within highly cited databases to identify miRNAs commonly regulating genes of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) family and coagulation pathway. Further bio-informatics approaches were employed to identify potential biomarker candidates. Meta-analysis revealed a panel of 12 miRNAs; two members of miR-27 family, hsa-miR-27a and hsa-miR-27b; two members of miR-320 family, hsa-miR-320a and hsa-miR-320b, hsa-miR-1233, hsa-miR-134, hsa-miR-424-5p, hsa-miR-221, hsa-miR-28-3p, hsa-miR-136-5p, hsa-miR-374-5p and hsa-miR-338-5p involved in blood coagulation under normoxic conditions. Besides these, present in-silico analysis identified a set of 5 miRNAs including hsa-miR-4667-5p, hsa-miR-6815-3, hsa-miR-4433a-3p, hsa-miR-6735-5p and hsa-miR-6777-3p which predominantly regulate genes that facilitate both coagulation and response to hypoxic stress. The present study generated a panel of regulatory miRNAs potentially involved in the process of blood coagulation under both normoxic and hypoxic conditions, which may serve as putative epigenetic biomarkers for coagulation.","PeriodicalId":36557,"journal":{"name":"Defence Life Science Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46739851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accordingly, the advancement of cost-effective stress prevention or stress management tactics has turned into a vital attempt at recent research endeavors. Music has been appeared to influence physiological, cognitive, and emotional stress-related procedures advantageously. Subsequently, the utilisation of tuning in to music as a financial, non-intrusive, and profoundly acknowledged mediation apparatus has gotten uncommon enthusiasm for the administration of stress and stress-related medical problems. “Raga is the grouping of chosen notes (swaras) that loan suitable ‘temperament’ or feeling in a specific blend. “Raga therapy means healing through the raga. It’s a yoga framework with the help of resonant sounds. Ragatherapy implies curing through the raga. It is the information on the most proficient method to utilise raga for curing [1]”. Symphonies of raga ensure a calming influence on the mind and body. Researchers have found the role of raga therapy in treating stress. In the present research, raga therapy was administered to 74 subjects suffering from stress as an intervention plan. The ISMA questionnaire was administered to them before and after the intervention. Different sequences of ragas were directed to them for 30 min. A significant effect of raga therapy established on stress management.","PeriodicalId":36557,"journal":{"name":"Defence Life Science Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45412815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The commercial cultivars of these vegetables were evaluated based on the growth parameters and their yield performance under open field with paired row system of planting. It was found that the cultivar Green Express performance was outstanding among test edcultivars and it superseded cv. Royal Ball BC-51 and cv. Blue Jayes in terms of growth parameters as well as marketable yield (2.62 kg/m2) and biological yield (3.47 kg/m2). The cv. Royal Ball BC-86 was also found next best performing cultivar after cv. Green Express as former was at par with growth and yield parameter and harvest maturity of later. The head of cv. Green express attended harvest maturity (149.25 days) approximately one week earlier as compared to cv. Blue Jayes (155.0 days). However, the productivity of cultivars Green Express and Royal Ball BC-86 was found within the range of national average, therefore, these two cultivars could be recommended for the commercial cultivation with paired row system of planting under open field cultivation during summer season in high altitude areas of Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh).","PeriodicalId":36557,"journal":{"name":"Defence Life Science Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46941064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers have described many natural and synthetic supplements to alleviate oxidative stress-induced muscle impairments. In this review article we are focusing on the skeletal muscle impairments and their alleviation by using natural polyphenols. Polyphenols are plant-based compounds showing anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory properties like Curcumin, Catechins, Resveratrol, Quercetin and Salidrosides appear to mainly act by reversing oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction eventually ameliorate skeletal muscle impairments under various imposed pathological conditions. This review also drew attention on the molecular targets of polyphenols and their possible therapeutic effects in preventing HA induced muscle impairments. Unavailability of suitable intervention, there is a need to find a probable solution having highly protective anti-atrophic, anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory properties with the tint of performance enhancer.","PeriodicalId":36557,"journal":{"name":"Defence Life Science Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43889467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this review is to determine whether there is scientific research based justification to the recommend promotion of probiotic containing food(s) for service personal consumption. Several research findings have shown its beneficial effect on various conditions such as respiratory tract infections, gastro-intestinal diseases such as infectious diarrhoea, as well as for treating nosocomial infections when admitted to ICU. Peer reviewed literature was searched to identify original research related to the efficacy of pro/pre-biotic containing food(s) in prophylaxis or treatment of several service related ailments viz., acute infectious diarrhoea, depression, service related GI and liver diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, respiratory tract infections, Allergic rhinitis, dental health issues and female urogenital conditions. Available scientific evidence can be wisely used by the practitioners for different conditions keeping in mind the probiotic strain, dose, and method of delivery as the effect is not always the same in every person.","PeriodicalId":36557,"journal":{"name":"Defence Life Science Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42725386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These experiments involve the recording of Cardio-respiratory responses such as Heart Rate (HR), Oxygen Consumption (VO2), Energy Expenditure (EE), Respiratory Frequency (RF), Minute Ventilation (VE), and Maximal Aerobic capacity (%VO2max). Due to limitations in the data sample size that can be obtained in laboratory-based experiments, there is a need for mathematical interpolation to obtain intermediate values in the study. Load carriage can be affected by factors that can be controlled, such as the speed of marching, and also by external factors that cannot be controlled like ambient temperature. Real-time interactions of all the factors also have an impact on the load-carrying capacity. Planning of the mission operations requires the specification of well-defined work-rest schedules and indication of total load limits, to ensure the operational effectiveness of the military personnel. In this paper, we present a Predictive 3-Dimensional Thin Plate Spline Model for efficient estimation of load. We developed a Multiple Linear Regression Model for predicting %VO2max for combinations of load and gradient. The accuracy of the model was 85 per cent and the maximum permissible loads were derived from the prediction model for the physiological limits of 50 per cent, 60 per cent, and 75 per cent of VO2max. A Thin Plate Spline based interpolation technique was used on this Multiple Linear Regression Model to generate optimal load at intermediate values for the experimental study. A similar predictive Interpolation Model was also developed for estimating load for varying walking speeds at level ground.","PeriodicalId":36557,"journal":{"name":"Defence Life Science Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47965051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A mismatch of anthropometry in design adversely affected the user’s performance during critical operation, compromising the safety and well-being of an individual. A detailed anthropometry-based sizing study was conducted by the research team, on the Indian female paramilitary troops for proper sizing of their protective gears and ensembles. An anthropometric survey of 325 female para-military troops, posted in two locations with age ranged from 21 to 54 years (mean ± SD) value: 37.14 ± 8.49 years was done. Each subject’s 28 different body dimensions were taken. The data was then investigated using the factor analysis method. Principal component analysis technique was used to reduce the variables to similar factor components where, two components with an Eigenvalue of more than 1 were selected. viz. Principal component 1 (girth dimensions) and Principal component 2 (abdomen or waist dimension). These two key variables were used to divide the population into three separate clusters using the K-means cluster method. These cluster groups were validated using a regression tree. Descriptive statistical analysis of data was conducted followed by Cluster analysis (of key components shortlisted) using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) version 21. The current study was the first complete anthropometric survey of Indian female paramilitary personnel for the development of a female-specific sizing system for a full-body protector (FBP) design resulting is an improved fit of full-body protector.","PeriodicalId":36557,"journal":{"name":"Defence Life Science Journal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41744653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
