Because of the potential large networks, number of nodes and the fact that multiple coexisting applications will be running in the same physical layer, RPL in the network layer faces throughput challenges. For the purpose of overcoming these problems many researchers focused on multipath solutions including a Back-Pressure routing protocol for data collection called BackIP [2], however it shows a superior throughput performance, BackIP have shortcomings of higher delay and limited applicability. In this paper, we introduce a node metric based on nodes Queue Backlogs for RPL protocol, which leads to better throughput performance while maintaining the delay and the ability to use with the different network applications. This metric depends on the Packet Queue length of the nodes with the consideration of other link and node metrics, like ETX or Energy usage, leading to better load balancing in the network. Moreover we discuss the needed design changes to enable our metric to perform in an efficient way.","PeriodicalId":360454,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117221876","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each SU has two options: either to join the CRN and get the service or to balk. This decision depends on the cost the SU may pay to get the service. In this paper, decision-making problem is investigated in presence of prioritized cognitive user traffic. We will study the decision process of low priority cognitive users in the presence of primary and high priority cognitive user. This decision-making problem is investigated using queuing analysis and game theory. An almost unobservable queuing model is proposed to represent the admission of the SU, while the game theory is used to develop optimization algorithms to address decision-making problem. Closed-form expression for average number of SUs at each queue as well as expected waiting time are derived. According to both primary user (PU) and higher priority SU's state, a mixed equilibrium balking strategies is obtained.","PeriodicalId":360454,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115693368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In tropical areas, rain is the most dominant factor affecting the FSO link availability, whereas haze has no significant impact on FSO link availability compare to rain. In this paper, availability assessment of FSO was examined based on predicted atmospheric attenuations due to rain and haze. The predicted atmospheric attenuations due to rain and haze were obtained using rain rate (mm/hr) and visibility (km) data measured in Malaysia. The effect of individual weather phenomena was analyzed and availability performance of FSO was evaluated. Combine effect of both rain and haze was also demonstrated using cumulative distribution function (CDF) of both atmospheric attenuations due to rain and haze. This study provides recommendations to FSO researchers in general and local telecom service provider in particular about possible availability figures that can be useful for deployment of FSO system over one kilometer link distance.","PeriodicalId":360454,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121991664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has introduced Network Mobility Basic Support (NEMO BS) protocol (RFC 3963) to address the challenges of the entire network mobility (such as the movements of trains, buses, ships and aircrafts). However, NEMO BS is designed without QoS support in mind. Similar to MIPv6, it can hardly offer same level of services (i.e. Best-Effort) to all the users without obligation to the applications needs. This poses a problem to real-time applications that required certain level of QoS commitment. Moreover, delays in data delivery, packet loss and higher signaling overheads are likely to transpire because of suboptimal routing and multiple encapsulations of data packets. Incorporating QoS with mobility support seems to be needed to fulfill the necessity of users in mobile network. This paper proposes a new scheme that deploys Differentiated Service (DiffServ) QoS-based model to achieve smooth delivery of real-time traffic in heterogeneous mobile networks. Furthermore, the proposed scheme uses the mechanisms of Fast Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (FHMIPv6) to reduce location update signaling issues, since the MR doesn't concern about local and global movement. It also conquers the weakness of NEMO inefficient routing by utilizing the methodology of MIPv6 route optimization to bypass the HA and catering optimal path. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is evaluated using Network Simulator (NS-2). The performance of proposed scheme is benchmarked with the standard NEMO basic support protocol. Eventually, the obtained results reflect that the proposed scheme outperforms the standard NEMO BS protocol by diminishing the handover latency.","PeriodicalId":360454,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121271419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fast increments and great usage boost demand in providing high internet service performance. It has become an ongoing research trend to enhance available schemes to comply such demand. The aim of this paper is to propose a new mobile multicast scheme that is able to support high usage of mobile IP traffic. The new scheme is named as route optimized context with multicast fast reroute (RCMFR). The proposed scheme improved network mobility management multicast services support. The network mobility management is known as Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6). The high performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated mathematically. The selected parameters are service recovery time and packet loss cost. The equations for the parameters are derived from signaling flow of the proposed scheme. Base solution is taken as the benchmark, therefore results are analyzed and compared with this scheme. The strengths of the suggested scheme is emphasized using quantitative analysis.","PeriodicalId":360454,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE)","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114203435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In an ECG signal, the region identified as the QRS complex is primarily used for classification of individuals. In this paper, we study an accepted method for identification where feature points are extracted from selecting random points within the QRS region and using the multilayer perceptron (MLP) method for classification. In our experiments, feature points are varied and processing time are measured to study the speed in processing feature points for identification. Our results shows accuracy performance cost and gains and the performance with respect to the number of feature points. Additionally, a different method in using 3-point of QRS complex that can provide best accuracy and time performance is presented.
