The research took place from June to August 2023. The data collected is primary data obtained by direct interviews with youth in Sion Village using a questionnaire. Secondary data was taken from village and sub-district offices as well as research reports, journals and from the internet related to this research. The sample was chosen deliberately (purposive sampling) to represent the entire younger generation, totaling 30 respondents, namely young people aged 17 to 30 years (who are not yet married). The results of the research show that the young generation in Sion Village has a good perception of work as farmers with parental support for the young generation to continue the family farming business, supported by the government which also supports the young generation to farm, although the young generation is aware that land ownership influences younger generation to farm, the risk of failure in farming is less, but the perception of work as farmers in Sion Village for the younger generation is quite good.","PeriodicalId":360203,"journal":{"name":"AGRI-SOSIOEKONOMI","volume":"559 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140472328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was conducted for five months, from December 2022 to April 2023. The selection of respondents was intentional. The data used in this research includes primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through interviews using questionnaires administered to 98 community forest farmers in Minahasa District. The collected data includes the characteristics of the community forest, such as the respondents' characteristics (ethnicity, gender, age, education level, number of dependents, monthly income, principal occupation, membership in forest farmer groups, and the intensity of extension services), as well as the characteristics of the community forest, such as the applied community forest patterns, land area, land status, and the farmers' perceptions of the management of the Cempaka community forest. The farmers' perceptions were assessed based on their knowledge of Cempaka, and the functions of the community forest were evaluated from four aspects: social-cultural, conservation and ecological, economic, and regulatory. Secondary data were obtained from reports and journal articles that support the research topic. This means that the farmers have a good understanding of Cempaka and the functions of the Cempaka community forest in terms of social-cultural, ecological and conservation, economic, and regulatory aspects. The cultivation of Cempaka is a genetic legacy that needs to be preserved and passed down to future generations. The data analysis used was descriptive analysis method, namely the data collected in this study were tabularized, then grouped according to research variabels. The results showed that Touure Dua Village has 2 marketing channels, namely second-level marketing and third-level marketing, and it can be concluded that both marketing channels are all profitable. Marketing channel I is more efficient than marketing channel II. This is because marketing channel I is lower in marketing costs incurred and has a short channel, which means that curly chilies reach consumers faster and reduce the state of damage to curly chilies in the transportation and distribution process, then the higher the share received by farmers (farmer share) which is 74% and 71% for marketing channel I and marketing channel II, then the efficiency of marketing channel II can be said to be efficient because <50%, namely channel I marketing efficiency value is 1.11% while marketing channel II efficiency value is 2.06%.
