The suggested scheme depend on computing the variance square-error between the current signals during the fault condition and reference current signal for performing the fault feature. The consequence is then amplified by using the cumulative approach. A double circuit transmission line model that constructed in PSCAD/EMTDC is employed for applying the proposed relaying scheme. Different situations of cross-country fault, inter-circuit fault and evolving faults is being verified. The results showed that the new relaying scheme can be securely used for the identification the non-conventional faults.","PeriodicalId":359802,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Computer, Control, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering (ICCCEEE)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114688067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It introduces microgrids as an alternative to conventional centralized generation as they provide stability in electricity supply in addition to the environmental benefits accompanied with using renewable energy sources. A new method is introduced to facilitate the fluctuation in energy production when using renewable sources by creating a Reinforcement Learning algorithm to conduct the process of energy trading between different islanded microgrids. The goal of the trading process is to achieve stability and generation-load balance in the microgrids. The paper also presents a case study of three villages in North Kordufan State; Hamza Elsheikh, Tannah and Um-Bader. The study uses real solar irradiance and wind speed data to create a MATLAB simulation for a fully functional microgrid. An RL environment of the grids is created which can be used for future research and modelling in the field of smart grids. The paper explores Vanilla Policy Gradients VPG as a solution algorithm for the problem. The algorithm achieved generationload stability when applied to data extracted from the MATLAB simulation; satisfying the loads while also achieving profit from the trading process; reducing the return of investment period for the microgrid.","PeriodicalId":359802,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Computer, Control, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering (ICCCEEE)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124016601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though the improving of the grid infrastructure at the point of interconnection needs an extra cost, however, it also provides a huge benefit not only economical but also it helps exchanging the peak loads, improving the quality of supply by increasing the reliability and stability of the interconnected grids. This paper will economically examine the effect of the grid interconnection between Sudan and Egypt on Sudanese power system. This shall be done by formulating a unit commitment study with and without the Egyptian exchanged power to compare the operating cost for both scenarios. The results have shown that second scenario, with Sudanese- Egyptian interconnection being introduced, is economically better.","PeriodicalId":359802,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Computer, Control, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering (ICCCEEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125726274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are many benefits of vehicular communications. It improves traffic management and put derivers in better control of their vehicles. Privacy and security protection are collective accountability in which all parties need to actively engage and collaborate to afford safe and secure communication environments. The primary objective of this paper is to exploit the RSS characteristic of physical layer, in order to generate a secret key that can securely be exchanged between legitimated communication vehicles. In this paper, secret key extraction from wireless channel will be the main focus of the countermeasures against VANET security attacks. The technique produces a high rate of bits stream while drop less amount of information. Information reconciliation is then used to remove dissimilarity of two initially extracted keys, to increase the uncertainty associated to the extracted bits. Five values are defined as quantization thresholds for the captured probes. These values are derived statistically, adaptively and randomly according to the readings obtained from the received signal strength.","PeriodicalId":359802,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Computer, Control, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering (ICCCEEE)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133056285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
