{"title":"Theoretical Aspects of the Study of the Transformational Potential of Parental Loss for Middle-Aged Adults","authors":"Oksana Shchotka","doi":"10.52534/MSU-PP.6(2).2020.59-66","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52534/MSU-PP.6(2).2020.59-66","url":null,"abstract":"The loss of the last of the parents is an understudied and underestimated phenomenon in Ukrainian psychological science in terms of the development of middle-aged adults. The purpose of the study: to identify the role of the loss of both parents in the personal transformation of the adult. To achieve this purpose, the methods of theoretical knowledge were applied: analysis, generalisation, systematization, and interpretation. The methodological framework of the study was formed by the idea of middle age as a time of deep self-cognition, the unification of opposing tendencies, the reaching of mature responsibility, and theoretical ideas of post-traumatic growth. It was found that the death of the last living parent leads to changes in identity, reassessment of life, relationships, to the use of methods of activity that were previously unavailable. It has been determined that middle-age orphanhood activates specific mechanisms of personality development: loss of existential security (“I am face to face with the world”), actualisation of the fear of death (“I will be the next”). As a result, mature responsibility is born, the fact of the inevitability of personal death is accepted. None of the other normative-age factors have such a strong transformational potential. The most important mediating factor of changes in the adult’s personality is the completeness/incompleteness of the child’s parental relationship with the deceased parents. Incomplete child-parent relationship becomes a source of personal trauma and at the same time contains a powerful resource of personal transformations. {"title":"Age Features of the Socialisation of Children with Intellectual Disability in Special Psychological and Pedagogical Research","authors":"V. The purpose of the scientific article is to identify the age characteristics of socialisation of children with intellectual disability in special psychological and pedagogical research. In the course of the study, the following methods were used: analysis of general and special psychological and pedagogical literature; systematisation and generalisation of theoretical approaches to solving the problem of children with intellectual disabilities’ social development; definition of key concepts’ content; theoretical modelling to create a hypothetical model of socialisation of the child with intellectual disability at different ages. It was found that the socialisation of a personality with intellectual disability in preschool age was manifested in disorders of self-perception, decreased emotional sensitivity, ability to empathise, lack of understanding and adequate assessment of life situations, social skills’ disorders. Due to the existing behavioural disorders, younger students have a feeling of loneliness, lower social competence. The semantic sphere of adolescents with intellectual disability is manifested in the delayed development of semantic life orientations, low level of life satisfaction, unformed higher emotions, dominance of primitive interests, violations of self-control, dominance of low level of adaptation to the social environment. Senior students with intellectual disability have a distortion of self-awareness, which is manifested in undifferentiated and uncritical perceptions of adolescents about themselves, inadequate self-esteem. {"title":"Self-educational Competence as an Integral Part of the Professional Competence of Future Agricultural Students","authors":"N. High speed of science development quickly renders any knowledge acquired by students in high school obsolete and reveals the urgent need for the development of self-educational competence. In conditions of widespread computerisation and active use of the latest modern technical developments in everyday life, the use of interactive computer technology appears to be the most effective and promising line of self-educational competence development among university students. Four components of self-educational competence are identified: knowledge; motivation; activity; communication. In accordance with these components, criteria, indicators, and tools were developed to determine the self-educational competence development of university students through interactive computer technology. The pedagogical experiment took place from 2017-2019 based on Chernyatyn College of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University. The survey covered 87 students of four faculties, 26 people were in the control group and 61 people in the experimental group. To standardise the initial results of diagnostic tests and questionnaires, percentiles were used. After calculating percentiles for each component of self-educational competence, a table of standardisation was composed. Four levels of component development of self-educational competence were identified: low, below average, above average, and high. The purpose of the formative phase of the experiment was the model testing of self-educational competence development in university students through interactive computer technology. The analysis of indicators of transition of students to a high level of development of self-educational competence demonstrated that the process of development of self-educational competence of students of experimental group passes more effectively than at students of control group. The purpose of the study is to reflect the systematic approach in the development of the conceptual paradigm of the integrative development of personality stress. To achieve the purpose, a systematic approach to the knowledge of psychological phenomena was applied, which provides clear principles and determines the sequence of stages of scientific research in systemic discourse; logical and methodological concepts of Ukrainian and foreign scientists were also used, which explain the meaning of the concept of “stress resistance”, give an idea of the symptoms and types of stress, the mechanisms of stress resistance of the individual. For the first time, the author presents the concept of integrative development of the personality’s tolerance to stress, which is based on a system model of the personality’s tolerance to stress. The result of the study is to identify the systemic key foundations of the author's concept of integrative development of the personality’s tolerance to stress: structural components, correlations between them, dynamic stages, the expected goal. The study presents a discussion of the results of theoretical analysis on the possibilities of applying a systematic approach in the development of personality stress. Stress resistance is considered as a structural and systemic integrative property of personality, which includes such fundamental components as psychophysiological, emotional, cognitive, and volitional. The author singles out the systemic properties of personality stress resistance, analyses the mechanisms of stress resistance development, and highlights the criteria to be followed in the psychodiagnostics of personality stress resistance.
