However, assessing writing is a highly subjective task, making the grading of such tests a costly process that demands several graders for calculating interrater agreement to ensure reliability. A drawback of this approach is that interrater agreement does not explain the source of markers' differences; therefore, when agreement is low, the marking process must be repeated, and markers retrained. This article proposes a method to predict agreement, based on markers' individual differences using item response theory. Understand the differences between query states and their transitions becomes increasingly important, as doing so makes the optimization of search engines' results according to educational uses and needs possible. This paper introduces the ESKiP Taxonomy of Query States, a classification framework validated in an experiment involving two different query log datasets. A study case on integrating MOOCs in courses at Master level is presented and discussed based on questionnaires, reports and live discussions with students. Studying online, open education and MOOCs still represent terms students are not familiar with, in Romania in particular. The authors proposed, for several years, an asynchronous course work to be integrated with the traditional in-class instruction. Every year the method is refined and enhanced with new models. This year the novelty was to empower students to become co-creators. Seven experiments were carried out to validate the proposed model, which consisted of collecting and analyzing data about students in the seven periods of the Pedagogy course. The models were considered intuitive and with good functionalities, however, improvement in the design and aesthetic aspects is needed. However, little attention has been given to the contexts where learning takes place, and to the stakeholders involved in implementing and using these tools. Following the SHEILA Framework, we present the results of interviews and focus groups with students from a Brazilian public university on their perceptions of the potential and risks of using LA in higher education. Findings indicate great difficulties to use the Learning Management System; lack of effective communication with teaching staff; lack of quality and timely feedback; high perceived value of personalization; rejection of competition and rankings; issues with self-confidence; and trustworthiness of the educational institution. The main objective is to provide course coordinators and teachers with relevant information about the courses students take based on their qualitative feedbacks. The experiments use a dataset that contains comments in Portuguese found in questionnaires filled out by students from mid-2005 to the first semester of 2018, with a total of nearly 170,000 comments, after a cleaning process that removes blank comments.
