Mass media in particular has immense potential to shape the attitudes of the common masses. With the passage of time, media is becoming an all-powerful engine of social change. It plays the role a catalyst in churning the minds of the masses. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the news items brought to the knowledge of the public pay a strong role in creating a mandate. People have varied choices when it comes to their media habits. They are greatly influenced by their socio-economic background and educational exposure. This paper aims to identify the influence of demographic variables like gender, age, education and employment status on the choice of media.  The paper also highlights the current and emerging media habits of people.","PeriodicalId":35489,"journal":{"name":"GIS-Business","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74556900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data was collected from a combination of 171 households and businesses on 24 socioeconomic, sanitary and environmental indicators of efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste in developing municipalities. The specific objectives of study were to assess the current level of efficiency in the collection and disposal of municipal solid waste, and to construct a framework that could be used for improving the current level of efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste. Efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste was assessed by using ISO 14000 and ISO 14031 standards defined by the Canadian Standards Association. The results showed that about 67% of businesses selected for the study were inefficient in municipal solid waste management, whereas about 33% of them were efficient. Efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste was significantly influenced by 3 predictor variables (lack of adherence to municipal bylaws on waste management, inability to enforce municipal bylaws on municipal solid waste management, and wrong perception on the potential benefits of proper waste management.  \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":35489,"journal":{"name":"GIS-Business","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84904578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main aim of this study is to examine   the socio economic status of tribal women  and  analyze  income and expenditure pattern of tribal  women  .In this regard three villages in forest areas of Khammam district had been selected and primary data had been collected from 120 tribal women. The logistic regression analysis had been conducted to know the factors influencing tribal people to access bank loans by tribal people. The major finding of this study is that tribal women with land ownership can improve their socio economic status.. It is found from the predictive analysis that socio economic profile of tribal women can be improved with more enhancement of land ownership. The education facilities and healthcare facilities are not considered by the logistic model for accessing the bank loan by tribal women. The standard of living conditions of tribal women in forest area can be enhanced through entrepreneurship rather than providing employment opportunities.","PeriodicalId":35489,"journal":{"name":"GIS-Business","volume":"63 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84063680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Female voices in the current society take up a deep voice and a meaningful view, as they are recognized to be the public subject. Adriana Lisboa in her novel Symphony in White discusses the abuse of children and the violence meted out by them in the society. The novel also focuses on how the girl children suffer due to the harassment within their family circle, which results in failure. The present paper analyses how oppression leads to silence which ultimately destructs life.","PeriodicalId":35489,"journal":{"name":"GIS-Business","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72698453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In those days, the downtrodden and the depressed classes (dalits) in the society were totally denied education. But the Christian missionaries came forward to educate them and to give a lift to their status. This article highlights the deep devotion to educate dalits and their awake over Christian mission.","PeriodicalId":35489,"journal":{"name":"GIS-Business","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90623499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
