Virtual teams are connected through technologies that are separated by waters. A good positive leadership style is required for leading in the virtual world. Previous researches suggest that transformational leadership (TFL) style fits best in any type of a team. Luthans et al. coined the term psychological capital (PsyCap) that is comprised of hope, efficacy, resiliency and optimism. However, PsyCap concept has not been studied in VTs. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between PsyCap, leadership styles and leader outcome (LO) in virtual and face to face (FTF) teams. The study utilises the responses from 387 working professionals that belonged to virtual, FTF and hybrid teams. Out of 387, 179 working professionals belonged to virtual and FTF teams. The correlation analysis revealed positive relationships between PsyCap, TFL style and LO in virtual and FTF teams.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46831805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In digital world that we are living in now, boundaries and roles of work have intruded into the personal life of an employees, and a lot of them are juggling to achieve balance and their wellbeing (with life, optimism, and overall well-being). The principal aim of this project is to trace a path between the works vs. mindfulness perspectives of employees in an(y) organisation. A cross sectional descriptive exploratory study of employees was conducted to assess impact of stress on the perception of work life balance and if and how mindfulness can mediate between these two. Data analysis reveals that mindfulness mediates between stress sand work-life balance and there is a significant impact of mindfulness on work-life balance.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44180471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper adopts the computable general equilibrium model with the GTAP 10 database to achieve the objective. Three scenarios are built to measure the ramifications of this structural transformation. The paper concludes that there will be mixed results for different sectors, and governments of these countries have to step forward to bridge the gap created by the advent of new technologies such as blockchain, and artificial intelligence and robotics. Governments will have to find answers to some pertinent questions such as what policies are required to be framed to enjoy the benefits of technological changes and how can the functioning of labour markets be improved in view of the technological revolution. They will also have to ensure inclusiveness and income equality through new policies.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49077717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study identifies the occurrence of prosocial rule breaking behaviour in central India. In the present paper, researchers have reported the findings of the study conducted to ascertain the factors contributing to PSRB. A structured questionnaire was used to capture responses on a five-point Likert scale for 16 statements relating to PSRB. The data obtained has been analysed using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. As per previous studies, three factors were identified which are affecting PSRB towards colleagues, customer and enhancing job performance. In the current study, one more factor has been found to be affecting which is risk-taking propensity.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47768088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The guidelines provided under the Building and Other Construction Workers Act (BOCW Act, 1996) have been discussed and evaluated. The study shows a detailed comparison of the law and the actual condition of the construction sites. Factor analysis have been applied on the data collected from 15 construction sites around Delhi, Noida and Gurugram to find out the major factors which play an important role in development of labours in construction industry in India. Conclusions were made to develop the methodology to eradicate the issues of the construction workers which would ultimately provide the solution to improve the performance of the workers at the construction sites. This paper adds value to the regulators and owners of construction site to come up with guidelines and procedures which will not only decrease the number of accidents occurring at sites but would also increase their efficiency at work.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42607852","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper points to new business models that attract participants in a value chain for innovation. Public-private partnerships can help to activate a supportive ecosystem and draw in participants to contribute to the innovation value chain. There are few economic incentives stimulating R&D for diseases of poverty. But policies with global reach have created new sources of financing to accelerate healthcare innovation in resource-poor settings. Combining resource-based theory of the firm with ecosystem analysis, we extend entrepreneurship theory beyond conventional applications and point to new business models to achieve global health objectives. We use case study evidence from the Meningitis Vaccine Project to show how entrepreneurial innovation can build resources and create value in the healthcare ecosystem.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41390028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study is to examine the relationship of transformational leadership on organisational commitment and to examine the mediating role of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The primary data was collected from the 121 employees working in private banks in Delhi, using a simple random sampling technique. Regression analysis was applied to examine whether corporate social responsibility mediate the relationship amongst transformational leadership and organisational commitment. The findings reflect that transformational leadership positively impacts organisational commitment. The research also proved that corporate social responsibility significantly and partially has a mediating effect on the relationship between transformational leadership and organisational commitment. These findings encourage banks in the developing nations to implement corporate social responsibility practices by transformational leaders to increase organisational commitment.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44203040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article attempts to explore Gen Z student's work values and priorities while making career selections. It also attempts to understand the impressions of gender and course-type (UG/PG) on work values. A questionnaire-based survey of 264 students from vocational colleges has been administered to understand their work values and perceptions of an ideal workplace. Lyons Work Values Survey (LWVS), with 25-item revised scale was used to measure four work values namely instrumental, cognitive, altruistic and prestige. Results from analysis suggest students attach greatest importance to cognitive and instrumental work values and least importance to prestige and altruistic ones. Significant differences were observed in the work values by gender and UG/PG courses. The results of the research will help employers design workforce plans and engagement methods for higher efficiency at workplaces.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43039472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, progress in testing and adoption of GM crops in Ethiopia is hindered by prohibitive biosafety law issued in 2009 and by lack of clear guidelines with respect to the regulation of GM crops. Ethiopia should integrate development exigencies with environmental concern in decision making, forge partnership with technology providers and resolve indecision and regulatory encumbrances to make use of less contentious GM crops such as Bt-cotton. Engaging influential individuals that champion the technology and enhancing experience of scientists for interaction with the outside world, including the international private sector may help circumvent the challenges. An independent public biotechnology knowledge system may improve accurate information flow among stakeholders, in the end, leading to informed decision making by policy makers and the public at large.","PeriodicalId":35474,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Technology and Globalisation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48448598","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
