Abstract
Leading virtually is already a reality. Virtual teams are connected through technologies that are separated by waters. A good positive leadership style is required for leading in the virtual world. Previous researches suggest that transformational leadership (TFL) style fits best in any type of a team. Luthans et al. coined the term psychological capital (PsyCap) that is comprised of hope, efficacy, resiliency and optimism. However, PsyCap concept has not been studied in VTs. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between PsyCap, leadership styles and leader outcome (LO) in virtual and face to face (FTF) teams. The study utilises the responses from 387 working professionals that belonged to virtual, FTF and hybrid teams. Out of 387, 179 working professionals belonged to virtual and FTF teams. The correlation analysis revealed positive relationships between PsyCap, TFL style and LO in virtual and FTF teams.
