In the cladding-pumped Tm fibre laser we obtained up to 19 W of output at 1991 nm with a slope efficiency of 69% with respect to absorbed pump power, and in the core-pumped laser we obtained a maximum output power of 12.1 W at 1860 nm limited by available pump power. Using tunable cavity configurations the cladding-pumped and core-pumped Tm fibre lasers could be tuned from 1861 to 2061 nm and from 1725 to 1973 nm at multi-watt power levels respectively","PeriodicalId":354643,"journal":{"name":"CLEO/Europe. 2005 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe, 2005.","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114832385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The emission of air contaminants during laser processing of various materials in industry has been extensively investigated during the last decade. Unfortunately, this does not apply to the application of laser ablation in encrustation removing within the renovation and restoration processes of art works. The chemical composition issues as well as the amount of emitted pollutants are poorly diagnosed until now. In biological imaging there are many sources of aberrations a spatial light modulator offers the possibility to control these aberrations.
