Prior research in this field mainly uses Global Positioning System (GPS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) or their combination with accelerometer to recognize transportation modes, such as walking, driving, etc. In this paper, we will introduce transportation mode recognition on mobile phones only using embedded accelerometer. In order to deal with uncertainty of position and orientation of mobile phone, acceleration synthesization based method and acceleration decomposition based method are introduced. Performance comparison indicates that acceleration synthesization based method outperforms acceleration decomposition based method. We will discuss the factors affect the recognition accuracy of acceleration decomposition based method and present potential improvements.","PeriodicalId":354322,"journal":{"name":"2010 Asia-Pacific Conference on Wearable Computing Systems","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129990019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of chemometric tools, such as orthogonal signal correction(OSC), principal component analysis (PCA), Partial least squares to latent structure discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), make the data dimensionality reduction and interpretation much easier. Here we showed an system method based on PCA, OSC-PLS-DA for metabonomic data analysis; Furthermore, U-plot, as a visualized tool, combined with independent samples T test, were used for the biomarkers discovery. As an example, dataset from RZ water extract administrated rats urine collected by LC/MS/MS was used to demonstrate this method. As a result, U-plot based on OSC-PLS-DA was proved to be an effective, time saving tool for data interpretation and biomarkers discovery.","PeriodicalId":354322,"journal":{"name":"2010 Asia-Pacific Conference on Wearable Computing Systems","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121248488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The single-loop quasi-linear driver steering model can certainly be applied to modeling of a 5 DOF vehicle coupling system. To quantify vehicle performance, the steering control is obtained by step input as the steering angles of the front/rear wheels. The simulation result indicates that the proposed method is very effective in the performance of the vehicle maneuverability at low speed and stability at high speed.","PeriodicalId":354322,"journal":{"name":"2010 Asia-Pacific Conference on Wearable Computing Systems","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115860389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This model is a combination of a model called cellular learning automata (CLA) and the evolutionary model. In this new model, each genome is assigned to a cell of cellular learning automata to each of which a set of learning automata is assigned. The set of actions selected by the set of automata associated to a cell determines the genome’s string for that cell. Based on a local rule, a reinforcement signal vector is generated and given to the set learning automata residing in the cell. Based on the received signal, each learning automaton updates its internal structure according to a learning algorithm. The process of action selection and updating the internal structure is repeated until a predetermined criterion is met. This model can be used to solve optimization problems. To show the effectiveness of the proposed model it has been used to solve several optimization problems such as real valued function optimization and clustering problems. Computer simulations have shown the effectiveness of this model.","PeriodicalId":354322,"journal":{"name":"2010 Asia-Pacific Conference on Wearable Computing Systems","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124232237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, It is difficult to reuse algorithm module and the system also becomes more complicated to achieve. Traditional online trading framework can not preferably solve the problem listed above. Thus, we propose a framework of online trading platform based on cloud computing. It is feasible to establish a high-complexity online trading platform using infinite virtual computing capability provided by cloud computing.
