The programmes are evidence-based digital mental health programmes based on cognitive behavioural therapy. The programmes launched at a time when children and young people were returning to school post-pandemic and facing huge uncertainty. The programmes are now being rolled out nationally to NHS and education services. Explaining the partnership journey and outlining how digital treatment programmes have developed within Northpoint's schools therapy services, this article highlights the benefits of having a digital offer as an integrated part of its service model while considering how technology solutions can supplement mental healthcare provision for children and young people.","PeriodicalId":354264,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Child Health","volume":"968 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139248935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper challenges the prejudices faced by mothers by society, professionals and the law when living with abuse; specifically, exploring the concept of ‘failure to protect’ in order to understand the repercussions of this label on the mother-child dyad. A theoretical analysis of the literature examines an alternative view of the complex and multifactorial measures taken by women to protect their children. In doing so, the ecological model is examined to consider the term ‘mother blame’.","PeriodicalId":354264,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Child Health","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124990021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study has a qualitative design focusing on illuminating the meanings embodied in lived experiences Fourteen qualitative interviews with school nurses were conducted and a descriptive qualitative meaning analysis was used to cast light on the phenomenon. The COREQ checklist was used to ensure trustworthiness. Four themes were highlighted: opportunity in the health dialogue, necessity to create and prove trustworthiness, cooperation with other professionals, and awareness of factors that could complicate reporting exposure to violence. The study provided new insights such as the school nurse having an important role in the identification of students exposed to violence. It is important that school nurses have an open approach and are systematic in the health dialogue, using questions about violence to create opportunities for students to talk about their living conditions.","PeriodicalId":354264,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Child Health","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114676532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
