Gonçalves","doi":"10.1590/0104-530x3680-20","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1590/0104-530x3680-20","url":null,"abstract":"Abstract In extremely dynamic sectors, whose structure is not so evident, both the approach based on the Structure-Conduct-Performance paradigm and the approach based on firm resources are limited to explain the sources of competitive advantages and the performance achieved by firms from their strategic choices. In this context, by focusing on the firm's adjustment to changes in highly dynamic environments, as well on the firm’s facing challenges posed by volatile sectors, through integration, reconfiguration, renovation and allocation of its resources, skills and capabilities, the perspective of dynamic capabilities comes out as a promising approach to strategy studies not only to understand the sources of firm’s sustainable advantages, but also to comprehend how such advantages are developed and implemented. The article consists of a theoretical essay that analyzes the concept of dynamic capabilities from the main definitions collected in the literature, by carrying out a conclusive synthesis and arguing about consulted theoretical contributions. To this end, the study was conducted in two stages: one, exploratory and qualitative, and the other, descriptive and quantitative. In the first stage, a construct was chosen and validated to identify the effect of integrating the functions of innovation and develop an instrument for data collection. In the second stage, we defined the research population, collected data, and performed statistical analysis of the results. To measure the relationship of marketing and operations, we used a theoretical construct which investigates the level of integration in the four phases of the new product development process and innovation performance, considering both financial and non-financial dimensions. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and statistically analyzed through linear regression and correlations between variables. The results showed that the integration of these areas has a positive and significant impact on the success of innovation, indicating that information-sharing in the initial and final stages of the product innovation process is a driver for achieving better performance. Due to its huge potential to spread more sustainable environmental practices, investigations on the environmental assumptions, concerning the application of additive manufacturing technologies, are required. Therefore, based on a systematic literature review, this study aimed to analyze the studies that addressed the environmental performance of logistics operations in a comparison among conventional and additive manufacturing, using the Life Cycle Assessment technic (LCA). Angelis","doi":"10.1590/0104-530x2708-20","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1590/0104-530x2708-20","url":null,"abstract":"Abstract: The performance measurement systems (PMS) have been studied over the last ten years, but this is still a very important research topic for companies and it keep being studied nowadays, because such systems help in decision-making, they allow monitoring and control indicators, and to assist business and operations strategy realization. The recent studies on PMS mostly are on reviewing their concepts and definitions, models, frameworks, design and implementation recommendations, etc. Based on a study oriented to PMS use described by roles to be played, this article aims to discuss the interrelationships between the roles of a performance measurement system, to cluster them and to formulate recommendations for their adoption and proper use. Thus, a survey collected and analyzed the perception of business representatives, who are able to express their agreement levels for PMS roles and use. Data are analyzed by using cluster analysis technique where the roles forms four groups, which can be confronted with the findings of related works from PMS literature. Conceptual design concepts were generated and through the use of a morphological matrix the options of confection of the final conceptual prototype were verified. With the definition of the previous steps, the project team cataloged the main requirements and functions of the equipment and compared and evaluated them with a reference concept already used in the external environment of the company, verifying their priorities through the Mudge Method. Subsequently, the study of the needs of improvements in the main functions was done creating a final functional prototype for use in the work environment. The application of these techniques allowed quantifying the productivity of the product manufactured by equipment, comparing the situation before and after the process with the new equipment. However, the speed and scale of new manufacturing technologies are modifying an organization’s strategies and manufacturing capabilities to address new market requirements, competition, and new entrants. Advances in robotics are poised to change the global business landscape and to support organizations in improving upon their operations strategies. Industrial robots usually help improve product quality and provide better work conditions to limit the use of resources, resulting in cost savings. One of the main trends in robotics is that of human-robot collaboration (HRC), which influences operations strategies and which can have a disruptive effect on business models and market structures. The aim of this paper is to explore and understand the relationship between the competitive priorities (quality, cost, flexibility, and delivery) of classical operations and the competitive advantage of adopting HRC for a Brazilian automotive parts supplier.
