It has been established that during the period of modern history, sport in its development had a «chaotic» character. The development of non-Olympic sports in the period of contemporary history took place in two stages: Stage I 1918–1979 – characterized by an intensive development of non-Olympic sports in the system of the international sports movement, Stage II 1980 – present – is associated with the confrontation and recognition of non-Olympic sports of the international sports movement. The main prerequisites are: scientific and technological progress, organizational and legal, political, scientific and educational, social component. The main factors are: the development of industry, production, the cultural component, the industrialization of society, economic growth, significant achievements in science and technology, the development of the sports industry, a biological need for physical activity, the transformation of physical activity into sports, improving the quality of life, the creation of sports organizations, the formation of an institutional environment, the development of the scientific sphere and the information field, the manifestation of national identity in sports, etc.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. In some aspects, they are constant and harmonious, in some – quick and dynamic, but their ways are to answer the needs and expectations of their host society. In Europe, for more than three millennia, the development of individual disciplines has been accompanied by the evolution of sports facilities. To meet these needs, expectations and requirements - the architecture of sports facilities should be highly diverse. This variety is manifested in various styles, constructions, building materials, forms, and functions – depending on a given era, on the role, on the environmental and landscape features, on the social expectations, and the possibilities of implementation and political situation. However, their prominent role is universal: great usefulness for the society, their involvement in creating the tradition and identity of the site. They should always respond well to the emotions of extreme sports, equating beauty and nobility with the utility and ethos of sports competitions. In 2020, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemics proved how important and valuable is flexibility, the readiness of sports facilities to meet unexpected challenges and new situations.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. This is a conceptual paper, based mainly on the critical review of academic literature and UN WTO, UN WHO and UNESCO documents. By synthesising available data and research results, this paper provides an assessment of the present situation of gastronomy tourism, and tries to formulate some trends possible to be developed in the future, once the pandemic is over (as a potential role of culinary tourism in the revival of the whole sector). The research questions focused on the meaning and tradition of gastronomy tourism, consequences of the COVID-19 crisis and post-pandemic regeneration of the sector. The paper concludes that trends seen in gastronomy tourism sector before lockdown are no longer applicable during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. The new technologies helped to overcome some of the challenges which this industry currently faces. Several potential trends might be developed after the pandemic crisis, serving as local food and local culinary tradition promotion. Suggestions are provided for further research as discussion about more resilient, sustainable and inclusive gastronomy tourism in the future as well as recovery practices within the domestic hospitality are important.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. The study included a group of 32 patients (21 women and 11 men) from the Glaucoma Outpatient Clinic at Dr Alfred Sokołowski Specialist Hospital in Walbrzych. Patients were divided into two groups: an experimental group that received microkinesitherapy, and a control (placebo) group. In all subjects, two measurements of intraocular pressure were made using the AIR PUFF method. The data analysis did not show statistically significant changes in both groups (p<0.13 vs. p<0.08). In the experimental group, a decrease in mean pressure values was observed, while in the control group, an increase in mean pressure values of intraocular pressure was observed. The results obtained in the present study show that the aforesaid novel therapeutic method has the potential to reduce intraocular pressure, but it cannot unambiguously be stated that it offers an alternative approach to treat glaucoma.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. The increasingly expansive consumption of a sports product brings the humanistic coefficient, which formed the foundation of modern sport to the margins, and confronts public opinion with the deviant practices of sports life. Lack of the respect for the principle of fair play constitutes one of the elements that make up a broader image of the crisis of credibility of modern sport, in many places full of corruption, manipulation and foul play. The objective of this paper is to discuss selected symptoms of the crisis of values of modern sport, especially the ones related to violation of the principle of fair play, combined with an attempt to answer the question whether fair play affirms sport competition or, conversely – it is degraded and makes this competition dispensable. The objective will also involve the demonstration of the instrumental treatment of the fair play principle and numerous actions whose aim is its marginalization. Finally, there will be a focus on the principle of fair play considered as a collection of uncomfortable, ethical bonds that hinder the development of commercialized sport.Qualitative analysis of press content, analysis of selected items in a corpus of press releases and a qualitative case study were applied as the research methods.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka.
