Hence, the aim of the study was to assess the relationship between the level of physical abilities and motor skills of five-year-olds. 435 five-year-old children participated in the study. Physical fitness (PF) was assessed according to the Polish Physical Fitness Test for preschoolers. The Gross Motor Skills Test (TGMD II) was used to assess motor skills. Children were divided into the following groups: low physical fitness (PFI), average physical fitness (PFII), high physical fitness (PFIII). The analysis of fitness abilities revealed significant differences between girls and boys in trials assessing running speed and agility. Among the five-year-olds, a higher level of gross motor skills was noted in girls compared to boys, which was mainly influenced by the results of locomotor skills. In the ability to control sports equipment, similar results were observed in both sexes. However, there were significant differences in the individual exercises. Since no significant disproportions in locomotor skills and control of instruments were noted in five-year-old girls and boys characterized by different levels of physical fitness, it should be assumed that the 5th year of life is still too early a period in ontogenesis to look for such relationships.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. The need for integrated use of physical education and sports is well known and scientifically sound. The system of physical training of troops as a component of professional activity ensures the functioning of personnel in accordance with the requirements of physical fitness. Thus, the topical issue is to improve the content of physical training of cadets of military colleges of sergeants, taking into account the categories of servicemen.Purpose: Determining and improving the dynamics of general and special physical fitness of cadets, taking into account the categories of servicemen. Results: A study of the level of physical fitness of cadets of the military college of sergeants showed that during the training of cadets in the first year indicators of general and special physical fitness have positive changes, but no significant difference was found (p > 0.05).","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. Women did not participate in sport in Central Europe until the 1880s. Before the First World War, women’s sport in the Czech lands developed similarly to Germany and the Austrian part of the Cisleithanian region. In the period leading up to the First World War, women’s sport developed within a hegemonic masculine society. Representatives of this masculine society enforced ideas about the social role of women in sport by dictating to women which sports disciplines were appropriate for them and how they should practise them. Swimming and tennis belonged to sports considered suitable for women. Women first competed in golf and tennis contests at the Olympics in Paris in 1900. In addition, Hedwig Rosenbaumová, who was listed on the programme of the games as a representative of Prague, won the third place in tennis. Women played tennis, skated, and cycled in the Austrian, Czech, and Hungarian parts of the monarchy. In Galicia, women’s physical education developed in Sokol and at the end of the 19th century gymnastics schools were established in Kraków, Lviv and Warsaw.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. An important role in this process is played by academic teachers of the Physical Education & Sport Centre. In the researched period, the number of teaching hours of physical education was systematically reduced from 240 hours to 30 hours (ministerial central decisions). Sports classes at the University are supplemented by sports sections in selected disciplines. Students training in such sports sections have won already 434 medals in Polish Academic Championships and lecturers from the Physical Education & Sport Centre significantly contributed to those results. The Centre’s personnel consist of specialists in team games and individual sports. Their results in World, European and Polish Academic Championships have contributed to the promotion of Jan Długosz University in Europe and the world. The best section of KU AZS (Academic Club of University Sports Association) is women’s table tennis (9 medals in Polish Team Championships, 8 Polish Cups, 46 matches played in the European Cup). The sport activists of KU AZS together with the Physical Education & Sport Centre in Częstochowa organized 28 Academic Championships of Poland. In the 20th century tourism and camping were withdrawn as compulsory classes. Since 2008 students of UJD have had excellent conditions for practicing sports and recreation (Academic Sports Center).","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. An analysis of selected issues of Ukrainian scientists in the field of theory and practice of the competence of a physical education teacher conducting their professional activity in primary and secondary schools of Ukraine was carried out. In most of these works, the professional competence of a teacher is defined as a system of the following components: theoretical professional knowledge, practical skills, ethical and moral attitudes, professional abilities and predispositions as well as professional experience. The work also presents, on the basis of many years of research, the results of the author’s own analysis of the level and scope of competences of a physical education teacher, which allowed for the selection of basic groups of competences necessary to practise this profession: praxeological, communication, creative, IT and ethical/moral competences. By using these competences, a physical education teacher is ready for effective didactic and educational activities at school. The level of competence of a physical education teacher is significantly conditioned by: the scope of professional experience (an important place in this context is occupied by the period of professional adaptation, which significantly determines the effectiveness of the teacher's work and professional identification), the policy of reforming the school education system (the teacher's attitude towards reform measures directly affects their individual professional situation) and the location of the school. Competences are constantly verified, and their level is checked in specific teaching and upbringing situations.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka. The achievements of athletes at the Olympic Games are the hallmark of the country and are of great importance for the formation of its image in the international arena. Track-and-field athletics is a leader in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in the number of athletes participating in the Olympic Games and in the number of Olympic medals won during the Olympic games from 1952 to 1988. The article studies the historical aspects of the development of this sport, which is of significant interest not only for the historiography of the physical culture and sports movement in Ukraine and the region, but also allows us to highlight the main factors that determine the effectiveness of training highly qualified athletes. The chronological scope of this study covers the period from 1922 to 1991, when Ukraine was the part of the USSR and the Olympic sports developed in the conditions of the tough competition among athletes from 15 union republics. During this period, the Russian Federation had an advantage in the development of Olympic sports, training experience of athletes from Ukraine and other Union Republics was of particular importance. According to this, preparation of Ukrainian and other Union Republic athletes is of great interest.","PeriodicalId":353190,"journal":{"name":"Sport i Turystyka.
