Some of these buildings even remain abandoned and underused for an extended period. In line with this condition, cities experience a high level of urbanization that cause places tremendous pressure on urban spaces, especially green open spaces. This paper discusses Parasitic Architecture as an alternative design approach to address this issue. It proposes to use abandoned buildings as public facilities and is presented in sections. First, it reviews the concepts and principles of Parasitic Architecture, followed by observational studies using a contextual analysis to explore the context and function of abandoned buildings. The exploration results indicate a potential to apply Parasitic Architecture's concepts and principles in redesigning abandoned buildings and turning them into public facilities, particularly into green open spaces. In this context, the paper views Parasitic Architecture plays a vital role in providing innovative spatial and structural configurations to reorient the use of unused buildings for public functions. Keywords: abandoned building; contextual analysis; parasitic architecture; green open space \u0000AbstrakDi beberapa kota besar di Indonesia, banyak kasus bangunan terbengkalai akibat adanya kemunduran dalam proses konstruksi.

However, the current urban planning practices focus more on achieving a minimum standard or a standard need per capita rather than on the importance of green open space in supporting public health. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected urban life widely and informed us of the central position of public health issues and the provision of green open space. This study aims to examine the integration between factors that control the state of public health and urban landscape planning and design by adequately providing urban green open spaces. It explores the use of geographic information technology (GIS) using the Geodesign method. It develops spatial data content, including the area's physical and non-physical variables, including the number of COVID-19 cases. This study uses a computer-assisted GIS data overlay analysis technique with a multi-objective analysis method. The city of Bandung is chosen as a case study as it is one of the big cities in Indonesia that still needs to meet the minimum green open space proportion required by Regulation Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning. This study proposes 3 (three) urban green open space development scenarios, each with different variables following the current (status quo) spatial planning approach, a balanced approach, and a responsive approach. Based on these three scenarios, ten urban villages of Bandung are prioritized to have an additional green open space to achieve the minimum percentage of 20%.

One of the efforts to protect the environment is by reprocessing carbon dioxide. This research is an initiative to link the use of CO2 with the formation of green industrial innovation in the long term. A qualitative-descriptive approach is implemented to achieve this goal, aided by a literature review. The research results show that CO2 is not only produced from non-fossil energy residues but also from other fossil energy sources. The importance of campaigning for developing a carbon capture and storage technology that is actively supported by all parties is the key to the success of tackling the future climate change problem. Keywords: utilization; carbon dioxide (CO2); green industry; sustainable development \u0000AbstrakPesatnya pertumbuhan produktivitas industri kimia dunia telah menimbulkan dampak lingkungan yang merugikan. This study explores a broad application of this concept in a traditional settlement of Lasaen Village, Malaka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. In doing so, it correlates customs, norms, communal lifestyle, and spatial tradition with the eco concept. This study uses a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. Analysis within is underlined by a view proposed by Dinur that outlines three parameters in measuring the accommodation of eco-architectural concepts in building design. These include fluctuation, stratification, and interdependence, which in this study are respectively used to measure eco-architectural practices in eleven uma (home) of the Lasaen Village. Building design elements that are examined in this context embrace: building form and structure, the use of natural energy, the use of local building materials, the inclusion of openings and natural lights, impermeable walls and floors, pitch and hollow roofs, and detailed construction. This study demonstrates that the architecture of Lasaen Village, especially its homes, has applied the eco-architecture concept.
